I have heard many things about the busses for POP- some good and some bad. Can anyone give me some imput on the busses at POP. We are going the first weekend in May. THis is the time we usually go and for the most part we have found the crowds to be very manageable. Have stayed at ASMO in 01 during the summer and don't remember a big problem. Can anyone offer their info/expertise???????????:flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

Buses are dispatched according to demand, although the response is not instant and during peak periods there may not be enough buses for the entirety of the World.

From what I experienced in years past, bus service to Pop Century is about the same on average as to anywhere else. The normal dispatching is every 20 minutes during slack times.

Although buses start running to a park an hour before the park opens, I have not observed long lines of people at the one hour mark. Then at the half hour mark when 'everybody' shows up at the platform, buses don't all of a sudden come every three minutes but instead a 10 or so minute headway may occur for an hour or so. This still means that many folks won't make the rope drop at the park they hoped to make.

I stayed at POP last year the first week of May and found that the busses were extremely efficient. Never waited more than 5 minutes ever!

Of all of the resorts we've stayed at, the busses at Pop are the best. They go directly to/from Pop, so you don't have to stop at any other resorts along the way. At park closing, it seems there are always busses at the Pop waiting area, but for the deluxe resorts, it seems to take forever!

Well, hate to be dissenting here, but Pop buse for us in late August this past year were terribly overcorwded. Long waits. Worst of any resort we've stayed at.

Having said that, it would not keep me from staying at Pop againn . The price is right, for sure. However, I would be sure to be out at the stop before 8:30 to avoid crowds. I doubt youj'll have a problem in early May anyway due to low crowd levels at that timeframe.

After three stays at POP I have to say that their bus system works really well. I wish a lot of the other resorts would instituted the same bus que they have in place at POP. Yes, you have to stand out in the bright/hot sun in the que but no one is pushing ahead of you the way they do at other resorts.
As far as the frequency of the buses, I have found them to be very good. You will find it crowded at the 'normal' times...an hour before park opening until about an hour after park opening. If you try to head to the bus at off times, you won't have the long waits. But, I will say that I have never waited for a bus at POP for more than 20 mins. There was one morning we got to the bus stop, for the bus to MK, just as the bus was pulling up. Well, I realized that I had forgotten something back in the room. So, dh and dd hopped on the bus without me. I ran back to the room, grabbed what I needed, and headed back to the bus. This took about 10 mins, tops. When I got back to the bus stop I had about a 5 min wait for the next bus. It was about 8:15ish in the morning.

We just got back from our stay at POP a few days ago and the bus system there was awesome. We never waited more than 10 minutes for any bus. At the end of the day at MK there were 3 buses loading people to take them back to POP. One night DH and I wanted to go to DTD so we caught the monorail to the Contomporary in hopes of catching a quick bus to DTD...well we waited 1/2 hour and then had to stop by the Poly too. Needless to say it was a long and crowded trip. The buses at POP only go to POP or to the parks straight from POP, no stopping in between. We were VERY satisfied with all transportation. HTH,

Misty
