Business email manners

I have emailed professional people to ask various things. Like a lot of people do, I'm sure. Today I was bit put off. I was inquiring about some lessons for my kids. The place was offering lessons that didnt fit my scheule so I simply asked if they offered anything like this, and then explained in one sentence what I was looking for. (horseback riding lessons. Group vs private. Not that uncommon.)
Instead of answering me they said I coudl read their website to learn about them. They didnt even give me a direct link. I had already read thier site and it really was not clear.
Should this put me off of this company? It really does!

This is becoming an increasing problem for me, too. I do everything I can to avoid emailing a company -- I go to the website, google, etc., and tell them I tried to find it on their website. Then when I receive an email saying to visit their website, it just gets in my craw.

Or just a canned answer which doesn't even address my question. AT&T is great at this.

Yep, that would aggravate me too.
So I'd just email them back one more time and tell them that you were unable to obtain the information requested from their website BEFORE you emailed them and would they please take the time to explain it to you.
And unless their answer was apologetic and helpful I would not give them my business.

The best customer service people typically work for the companies that pay them the best, and the companies that pay their people the best typically charge the most. Most customers, these days, are looking to save money, so are selecting suppliers based on price above all other considerations, thereby decreasing the viability of offering a premium customer service experience.
