Ok - on another thread on these hallowed boards, I have read that weekend visits to MMSSHP (Fri/Sat/Sun) are to be avoided, and obviously the crowds get larger as you get closer to the day of Halloween, but what I would like to know, in the all your humble opinions, is

How busy do you think MMSSHP will be on Fri 28th Sept?

This is our daughters' 6th birthday and we would love to finish her big day with this experience! I realise that Halloween is still over a month away, but will that stop the locals from coming along on the evening in question?

Surely the fact that is still over a month away will mean that crowds are light? There are only 2 events prior to this (both on a Friday aswell) and the regularity of the event increases soon after.....

So again, I ask you more experienced Disney travellers of your opinions :thumbsup2

It should be okay when we went to Orlando in September the crowds were manageable and the shops had a few Halloween things in stock some folks dressed up for the MNSSHP and had a wonderful time it's great for the little ones ;) (US was much more adult orientated and a lot more scary). You will be there on the second weekend of the MNSSHP in September you should be fine (the weather will be less humid hopefully) bear in mind the closer to Oct 31st it is the busier the parks become:thumbsup2

Oh remember to get her a birthday badge from Guest Relations at the front of the park, she might have CMs and characters talking to her and interacting with her too.
There's a Little Ones Magic hour on Sept 28th and it's evening Extra Magic hours in EPCOT so there might be lots of guests going there, so MK should only have MNSSHP guests.

We went in September last year and it was brilliant. Still really warm and hardly any queuing. I think the longest queue was on the Expedition Everest ride but we got fast passes anyway. We don't have children so didn't go to this event but saw lots of children leaving to go... I can't see it being too busy

I think that you will be fine - there are a limited number of tickets sold for each party so the crowds are quite manageable.

We usually get to MK around 5pm and do a few of the rides. The party usually starts around 7pm.

I would try and do the majority of the rides for your DD as soon as possible thus avoiding most of the crowds although it is usually busy in that section of MK. Also only you will know if she will last the distance as the park will be open until midnight.

Have a great time, we are going the following Friday.

Cheers for the replies folks.

It is a big day for her, with a breakfast booked at Cinderella's Royal Table at around 10am - we then basically intended to stay in the park most of the day, with an afternoon break/nap for her before we headed back to the park for the big party.

As it's a month from Halloween (and the parks aren't busy anyway), the Halloween party shouldn't be either. I've been later in October, and never felt it was that crowded. Halloween might be another story - but Sept dates should even be slower than October.

I think you've got your assessment pretty much spot-on, BBB. Even though it's a Friday night, it'll be much quieter than those closer to Halloween (with the night of Halloween itself being busiest).
