Busier in Early or Late April?

Hello All,

I am planning 8 nights/7 days at Disney with my wife and 9 and 6 year old children (with a break in the middle for Universal 1 -2 days). This will be our second time there, our first was in 2001. Planning a trip to Disney is like planning an amphibious invasion! And nearly as expensive!

Anyway, our schedule allows us to leave either April 8 or April 23rd. I can get hotels and flights in our budget for either day (planning on Southwest Airlines from Omaha and Buena Vista Suites), my main concern is avoiding crowds as much as possible.

Does anyone have any guidance based on their recent planning as to which part of the month will be busier?

If you are plannign for this year... I think the whole month will be fairly steady. Beginning of the month is post Easter/Spring break crowds. Last 2 weeks the North East has various school vacations. The only other concern would be that the beginning of April is still considered peak season if you are planning on staying on-site. End of April is regular season.

We went for early April- I figure that it is late enough that the kids on Easter vacation went back to school (over a week after Easter) and it is before the passover break that a lot of NY schools are getting this year (I don't know if other states do it too?). When I originally planned my trip a few months ago, the time we are going (April 6-11) was not considered peak, but now it is. I did a lot of research and thought we were going at a non-busy time, but I guess I will see when we get there. I had hoped for a slow time. We may try again in December if it is very crowded now!

Hisotrically, early April is busier than late April.

We are there every year in late April (our anniversary) and that's usually the start of regular season.
