Bushwackers are Baaaaack. The Plans Stage 2 UPDATE 1/11

We always loose trees in the hurricanes. We cut it up and use it for fire wood. I should say dh cuts it up. I just watch. He recently had most of the trees on one side of our house bulldozed down. We have a pile of trees as tall as our house to burn. I am scared it is going to melt the siding off our house. We are going to re plant trees. We are going to plant live oaks. The trees he knocked down are water oaks and they were half way dead. The hurricanes shake the roots and mess with them. Live oaks are better. The side of our property looks naked now.

We have plenty of firewood. :sad2: Katrina took out mostly water oaks but also took a few red & white oaks. We only have one live oak and now it is leaning a little.

:scared1: Shake the roots?!?

I've never been in a hurricane. I wonder how long I can continue to avoid them.

Shaken, not stired. :rotfl2:

Am I the only one on this thread NOT from Louisiana?

Welcome and tell all your friends. Everyone is welcome. The more, the merrier. :grouphug:

::yes::

Hi there! Another Louisianaian checking in. We are on the left side of the state. :rotfl: We are also going in Februrary but about a week or 2 before Coteau Chick. I can't wait!!! We love going in February. Low crowds, nice weather, people are usually more mild mannered. We are also drivers. I'm sure one day we will fly but I have to build my courage first. :goodvibes

Hey there. Glad to see you made it on board. :cool1: Driving allows us so much freedom. :goodvibes We are not usually very flexible when it comes to travel dates in order to get the good rates.

The Plans

Ok, lets try to get started with the plans here. The trip is fast approaching. Some of you may know, this is not our first trip. Our previous 2 trips we have developed a couple of favorite places to eat. Being from Louisiana, we do like to eat. We don’t eat to live, we live to eat..alot.::yes:: I asked DW & DD9 for their favorites. DW liked the idea of doing DTD on our arrival day and eating @ CJ’s and DD really liked the CR, mostly because of sitting and watching the fish swim by. :cutie: I don’t think the little surprise with the menus and the diver last year hurt either. Of course the food is pretty GUD too.

One of my favorites is the WCC. I think the friendly wait staff there is outstanding. That along with the BBQ ribs make it a must each trip. Of course I was informed that Saturday night is always the best night visit this upscale establishment. Since I am the KING of this here wacky crew, one thing we will be doing for sure, is eating @ WCC on Saturday night. :thumbsup2 Besides, they serve some of the best ketchup around. :rolleyes1

A must for breakfast for CL & DD was CP. The characters are plentiful and the food aint too bad. It’s a little noise but that never bothers the Bushwackers. Usually, we are the noise ones, so we welcome a little competition sometimes. As far as I’m concerned, if the food is alright and plentiful, I will be ok with it. I know some people are not too crazy about buffets but I kinda like the serve yourself/all you can eat places. I have also been told that Cape May has a good character breakfast @ BC, so we may give that one a shot this year. It is within walking distance too so that is another plus for Cape Mae Café. We have done the breakfast at the castle for the last 2 years so we thought we’d skip it this trip. I’m gonna miss Jasmin this year. :sad1:

Some other places I’d like to try are Le Cellier, San Angel and Rosa & Crown. We have some friends that love San Angel and say that is a must do every trip for them. But then, they really love Mexican food. We’ve never been there so it is one that we want to try. I hear that Le Cellier is really gud but getting ADRs there is not very easy and I want to try the R&C with chance to watch the fireworks from there too.

Still unsure about the rest of the nights, I’ll call and at least get started with our ressies. I was able to get CJs & WCC for the times that I wanted. They asked if I wanted an earlier time (5:00 instead of 6:00) @ CJs but I did not want to make them too early just in case we had a problem during our trip or check in like last year. :sad2: So those 2 are done. Now I ask about Le Cellier and San Angel. I am told that San Angel has not made a decision yet about accepting the DDP and LC is already booked up unless I want to eat at 9:30 or later. NOT. We made a mistake of eating at that time of day once and won’t do that again. We are not what you would call “night owls” so eating that late is not allowed any more.

So here is what I have so far with more updates coming soon.
Friday: arrival, check in then head to DTD. Do shopping, sample margaritas then dinner @ CJs.
After dinner catch a bus back to Epcot to see Illuminations while sipping on Grey goose slushie before taking the back gate back to Boardwalk. If not too tired, take in the boardwalk shows before heading up to the room. If the room was not available at check in we might have to hang around Epcot until it is in order to get our luggage in the room before we go to DTD.

Saturday: DHS has EMH that morning, so we are not going there. :scared1: Besides, I don’t think anyone in our part of the bushwackers is going to be interested in waking up early on our first morning after getting up @ around 1:00am the morning before. Heck, we are at Disney, can you really start your vacation anywhere else but at the Magic Kingdom? Hopefully GM will not go to MK before Saturday and I can get a picture of her on mainstreet when she gets a good look at the castle for the first time. :goodvibes
Our plans are to spend the day at MK since we have ressies @ the WL tonight. We have not been on Splash Mountain yet because it has been in referb the last two years, so that is going to be our first stop. :cool1: If the line is too long, we will FP then try something else close by. Since we will be at MK all day we will try Peco Bills or Columbia Harbor for a quick service, then over to ToonTown to see if Tink will be there for DD9. :bride: From there take the hidden path to Tomorrow land to take in a few more rides then find a place to watch the DDCTP. After the parade go back to mainstreet to buy our annual Christmas ornament. By this time it should be getting close to time to catch our cruise to WL for dinner ressies @ WCC. I hope that we can get back to MK in time to see Spectromagic then wishes. :worship: If not, we will probably just head back to BWV and watch a few more shows. Those guys are soo gud. :thumbsup2

Now SG stopped by the house and came running in, jumping up and down screeming……….. I just got us ressies @ chef Mickey’s for dinner on Sunday night. :cheer2: :cheer2: I think she was upset that we all didn’t jump up and down like she was. So she said “WHATEVER” and acted like she was going to walk out just as quick as she came in. :lmao: So now we have dinner ressies @ CM’s for Sunday. YAY.:grouphug:

Maybe I can get a few of the bushwackers to pop in and post there two cents before I add more to our ressies. PLEASE STAND BY

I like the way you plan:thumbsup2 . I am the same way. I was so excited yesterday because they started taking reservations at TRex. I was able to get us in. We always eat at San Angel inn on the dinning plan. I even made ADR for it this time and when I did we were on the dinning plan. I have now canceled the dinning plan but the cm didn't say anything about San Angel not being on the dinning plan.:confused3

I'm glad to see someone else likes it. The ratings aren't the best there but it always seems to be packed. :confused3 CL and I don't a lot of Mexican food so we are not totally sold on this one yet. I think if something better comes along we might change it.

Hi!!! I'm Alisa from Houma. :wave2: I came over from Coteau Chick's TR after I saw your post. I'm subscribing to keep up to date. I hope all of your "family" has a blast at WDW. Oh, I definately know where Bush is, we used to go the the Seafood House. We would walk in the door then get rolled out the door after eating so much food. :rotfl2:

Hey Alisa, I don't know how I missed you here:sad2: Please forgive me. I'm glad to have you on board. I grew up in Houma. I still have several friends that live there. I moved away in 86. ALOT has changed in 20+ years. :scared1:

We live about 2 miles from the House of Seafood. I know what you mean about having to be rolled out of the door. The selection is sooo huge there, you want to try everything. I think they open this weekend again from their 6 week Christmas break. :yay:

Hello everyone... I am sorry it is taking me so long to get back on board. I promise I am trying to do better. :thumbsup2

I am not sure how to take parts of the post that The King of Bushwacker's posted so I will just tell you what I have been doing to get ready for Disney.

We have all of our ADR's done, I have heard so many wonderful reviews about Le Cellier that I wanted to try to eat. Sounds easy enough right ?
Just call, ask and you shall receive. I thought about changing Chef Mickey's from dinner to breakfast, I heard breakfast was better. Well it is easier to think..... When I called all 15 times they all tell me the same thing " I am sorry we have no openings" What's a girl to do ?:confused3
I was beginning to stress out about it :scared1:

After talking to the KING:worship: , I have decided that it is ok I will have to eat there next time we go. I am one of those people that hate to be told no you cant have it. It makes me want it more so I guess I will stop stressing and eat Le Cellier next time. Looking forward to it :yay:

I got my Disney Luggage in last Wed and I was so excited.:cool1: Feels real, like I am actually going to Disney now. I am trying to figure out what can I do without for the next 11 days just so I can put something in it. :cutie:

My Travel plans :

My family will be leaving Thursday morning around 2 am. We will head to Tampa where we will go visit my husband's grandfather. Then we are going to visit his step sister and her family. We have not seen them in about 6 years. Needless to say we are all so excited and ready to go :dance3:

Friday morning we are off to Disney. We plan on getting there in the sometime around lunch and hanging out until the rest of the Bushwacker crew arrives safely. Once they do it is PARTY TIME ! party:

Once everyone is settled we head out to DTD for some shopping and then dinner at Capt. Jack's. Yummy ! ! ! Let's not forget about the Margarita shop right by Capt. Jack's. This is the only place we dont mind a wait....:drinking1

Saturday morning we are off to MK. I cannot wait to see my mom's face (GM) when we get there. She has no clue what to expect, I cannot wait.

Well I am off to see what I can get ready of Lil Man's stuff...

I am getting nervous about our drive there, you know since the whole 18 wheeler thing so if you dont mind, say a little prayer for us. We would appreciate it.

talk at you later

Wow I didn't realize you were going so soon! Next Thursday!?!?

Sooo lucky. Our high here on Friday will be 15. Yes, that is the "high". :scared1: The low will be 4 or something toasty like that. Those birds that go south in the winter are on to something.....

Just stay away from the trucks that are bigger than you. :teacher:

Only part of the crew is leaving on Thursday. Our part (DD9, CL & the KING) are not leaving until friday. First ones to reserve and the last ones to leave. :sad1: I guess they are just saving the best for last.

:scared1: Ain't no way I could handle that kind of cold. Sneaux once a decade is gud enough for me. ::yes::

I'm cringing just thinking about that cold.

One, no - a few of my friends that live down your way said you might get sneaux later this week.....did you hear anything about that?

The last report I saw didn't say much about that. It is cool enough right now. It's about 40 at the house and I think in the next several days it is only suposed to get down to about 35. I don't remember the chance of rain being too high though.:confused3 If it does sneaux, I hope I'll be home this time.

The Plans -stage 2

All right we have our first 3 nights ADR’s taken care of. :cool1: I guess it’s time to work on the next of our favorites. I was told that CL, DD & SG all want to eat at CR again this trip. LTT for lunch is another request. I’d like to try a few new places this trip too.

I decide to close out our trip with ressies at Coral Reef. Everyone seemed to like that one last year so what better way to end our trip. SG & BG said they don’t care where they eat as long as they eat. So CR it is, on the last night. :thumbsup2

When I called about the ressies for CR I inquired once again about San Angel being on the DDP for this year. I was told they haven’t made it official yet but it was expected. So I went ahead and made ressies for there too.

Now one thing I want is a good steak house to dine at. Last year we did the Yacht Club. It was OK but nothing to brag about. The ones that had the fillet really liked it but my steak wasn’t what I was expecting I guess. So I have to look for another place this trip. I have tried Le Cellier but am not having any luck getting ADRs for there. I am open for suggestions here….:worship:

Did I mention that we DO like FUD. ::yes::

I did hear about someone having a gud time at Raglan Road. The only question I have is when does the show start as to not wanting to wait too late for the show to get ressies. I could not find a definite time here on the boards so I thought I’d start calling. After about only 3 calls I was transferred to the restaurant and found out that it starts around 8. So I booked ressies at 7:00 anticipating getting to see at least part of the show.

SG in her stressing to get some more ressies, booked one for us at Teppan Edo in Japan. She tells me this is a gud place to eat. My wife and I have never eaten sushi so we kinda look at each other with a :scared1: “OH MY LORD” look on our faces. So off to allears it is. I see steak on the menu so we are cool with it. I think we are going to like watching them cook right in front of us too. Besides, the grey gooses are only a short walk away from Japan. ::yes::

I think that gives us something to eat each night of our stay. Looks like we have about 3 nights in Epcot. There are worse places to eat. We are happy with what we have. I’m sure we’ll have a change or two as SG does some more stressing.:lmao:

So Far:
Friday:
dinner at CJ’s
Saturday: dinner at WCC
Sunday: dinner at CM
Monday: dinner at Teppan Edo in Japan
Tuesday: dinner at RR @ DTD
Wednesday: dinner at San Angel in Mexico.
Thursday: dinner at CR

Stay Tuned for more FUDs. Maybe even a breakfast.

You should love Teppan Edo. Hibachi cooked steak can be very tender and delicious. Plus they will all the cutting for you. Mmm...lazy steak eating.

Have fun...

Great thanks for the info. Ahhh, lazy steak eating. :cloud9: I didn't get this figure from not eating gud. ::yes:: I've invested alot of time & money in this and I'm gonna enjoy it. Besides, we do toooooo much walking at Disney to gain any weight. :worship:

I'm really looking forward to the show that they put on for you while they are cooking. We have the whole table to ourselves, I think, so it should be a blast.
