Hello All,

I'm relatively new to these boards. Have been on Disney 7 night cruises the past 2 summers, and are now booked for a week in WDW over Easter 2003. Have been to WDW five years ago, but this time will stay on the property at Caribbean Beach Resort. Since we are driving from MD, we will have our van, but would like to take advantage of WDW transportation system. From CBR, does the monorail stop there, or is everything by way of buses, and how convenient are they, or should we just take our van and go when we want and pay ($7?) to park. Also, where do the buses actually drop you off at each park (same place as those who drive in by car?) Thanks for any help. I'm clueless!!

The monorail does not go to CBR, everything is busses. The only resorts the monorail goes to are Grand Floridian, Contemporary & Polynesian (to Magic Kingdom with a transfer to Epcot).

WDW resort guests get free parking at the theme parks if you choose to drive. The bus will let you off closer to the entrance than parking. Each parking lot has trams that take you from the lot to the entrance (except MK you have to take the monorail or boat after you get off the tram).

When CBR opens back up again, busses will be running through the resort every 10 minutes or so for the theme parks.

I would recommend taking the Disney bus for Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and the Disney-MGM Studios. For these three parks, the bus will be quicker, ESPECIALLY for the Magic Kingdom.

For DAK... it's a toss up... The bus might make a stop at Blizzard Beach, but that only adds 3-4 minutes onto the travel time.

For Downtown Disney... it's really hard to say at this point. The traffic around Downtown Disney with all the current construction makes driving a potential nightmare... however, it also has been bogging down the busses in and out of there. Although, I do have to say, DTD busses have improved drastically over the past month and a half.

Me personally, I always encourage the use of Disney Transport. After all, you paid for it, might as well use it. Not to mention, it's air conditioned... no need to walk out to a hot car, and wait for it to cool down.

One thing to remember about CBR... there are 7 stops within CBR... make sure to remember which stop you are at! :)

Is there a target date for completion of the Downtown Disney construction? I know it was a mess when we were there in May.

Soon!!! :) :)

They've finally got the new intersection open, with the new traffic pattern. All they have to do now is finish up with the paving, landscaping, and lane changes and whatnot... My guess is that it will be done by the Christmas rush, but who knows for sure.
