We will be going home to SSR next July, and using the DME, so no car. How easy will getting to, say an early morning (7:30) ressie at Cape May Cafe be from SSR? What about the other resorts? We are probably going to do most of the character breakfasts. Are there any issues with getting to Poly or GF?

Busses from SSR only go to the water parks, the theme parks, and Downtown Disney. To go to another resort, you may want to go to DTD, then catch a bus from there to the particular resort you wish to go to.

To make it to other resorts at that time in the morning you may want to catch a cab. Otherwise, you may miss the reservation. Coming back will be easier as you can go to one of the parks and take the bus back from there.

If the buses at SSR are anything like they are from WL - be prepared to wait unless you happen to hit the stop at the right time. Two years ago we started renting a car to get around - and have not gone back to Disney transportation (except the boat to MK). We found renting a car at the airport and dropping it off at the car care center right on Disney property and then taking the Magical Express back to the airport was the way to go. We didn't waste a lot of time waiting for buses, esp at the end of the night when everyone was trying to leave the park - and it was much more flexible for making our ADR's. This doesn't necessarily answer your direct question, but may be something to consider for your trip!

To give you a comprehensive answer -- there are NO resort-to-resort buses anywhere. To go resort to resort, you have to go to either a park or DTD, and change buses there for your intended destination.

I agree with the suggestion above that a cab would be a good idea early in the morning, because the buses will be packed.

go check on the transportation board

there is a character bus - that starts around 6:30am (might 6:45 am)

now if you are only one in this bus - he might stop at BC - but be prepared to walk otherwise.

you need to get off at Studio. I don't think the boat is running this early - so you have to walk to BC - that takes around 35 minutes.

taking a taxi might be easier.

ask on the transportation about the buses and boats.

This is why we rent a car now. We like to go to the other resorts for dinner and there were times in the past when it took us an hour to get from one to the other (depending on how you hit the buses).

I think the idea of a taxi is a good one, especially for an early morning ressie.

Agree with JimMIA on getting the cab. Going resort to resort at other times of the day isn't nearly as difficult as getting there in the a.m. Since the buses to the MK run early in the morning to accommodate the breakfast ADRs (usually start running at 7:00 a.m. or so) you can catch the bus and then take the monorail to the Poly or GF. Hitting the 7:30 Cape May's is much more difficult unless it would happen to be early magic hours at Epcot or MGM and then a walk-through to the Beach Club. The cab will hopefully be more reliable and faster! Have a great trip!:thumbsup2

Thank you all for the suggestions! It really does look like a cab for some of the early morning ressies is the way to go. :disrocks:

you don't need one for the Poly or GF - just make sure your reservation are after 7:30 am.

just take the bus to the MK (or character bus) - then ride the monrail (the resort monrail not the express)

the monrail starts between 7 and 7:30 am each morning.

I don't like the idea of taking a buss to DTD and then transferring. I think that DTD is a bottleneck.

Although, I wonder how the bus from AKL to DTD is if DTD is its only stop.

the AKL to DTD stops at BB going and TL coming back - unless I am mistaken.

well tell you next month~~~

also any DTD bus has DD, then PI then at times WDD to stop at.

at PI they can and do change drivers.
