Buses to/from AKL

Hi,

My sister and her husband are going to WDW for 4 nights. They are considering moving their port orleans reservation to AKL. They are not worried about the cost dilfference but are concerned that this will add Bus time as they won't have a car. They will focus on the MK and Epcot but definitely want to do AK and will go to MGM if they time. Do you think they will spend alot more time on buses if they are at the AKL?

They shouldn't be concerned about it. Some trips may take an extra five or ten minutes, but that's all. AKL has very good bus service.

They also don't have to share the bus with other hotels. This should make the rides a little smoother.

and we had no problems with the bus service. The longest ride seemed to be on the bus to/from DTD because it is a distance and the bus makes several stops. MK may have been 15 minutes; AK about 5; MGM about 10; EPCOT about 10.
AKL has only one bus station as compared to several at the Moderates (like CBR, CSR and POR) so the bus spends much less time driving around the resort while traveling to/from the parks, etc.
