we are staying at pop, can you get taxis from the parks if there is a long wait for buses

Yes, there are taxis that can take you. At the MK you may have to go to the Ticket and Transportation Center to get one though.

The taxis can be expensive though.

You can take a taxi and it is pritty cheap and they usually have them Everywhere! we did both

Just want to add that you cannot take a taxi directly to the Magic Kingdom. Only Disney buses are allowed near the MK entrance. All other vehicles must go to the TTC. If you need to cab to the MK take it to the Contemporary and walk to the Magic Kingdom. The walk is only about seven minutes.

Similarly, on the way back to your hotel, walk to the Contemporary and catch a cab there.
