I was just looking over some of the plans and ADR we have written down and I was wondering how the buses work? Do they have written on them where they are going? Do we tell them when we board? Is there a daily route they go and you just go along for the ride?? How do we know how soon to catch a bus for a certain place for dinner??? How does it work??

depending on where you are, you'll be waiting for a specific bus in a designated spot and the buses have their destinations on the marquees.

typically, allow 20 minutes to wait for a bus to arrive and add approximate travel time.

also, buses do not go between resorts. at resorts, they go to parks and DTD. at parks, they go to resorts and other parks. at DTD, they go only to resorts

We usually recommend leaving at least an hour to travel from a resort to another resort. Now, when you are waiting at your resort bus stop, each bus that comes up will have it's destination clearly spelled out on the front.
Perhaps you could give us where you need to go, and from where, and we could give you more concrete examples.

The buses work very well (most of the time, I had an RTS last night that didn't) :)

As stated above, if going from a resort to a resort, you need to transfer at a transportation hub (MK, Epcot, MGM, AK or DTD) An hour is a good buffer, you may be earlier but not usually later.

99% of the time, the marquee on the bus is accurate, sometimes a driver may forget to change it or at DTD the GPS system is wrong and won't change it. You can always ask the driver where he is headed.
