First thanks for all of your help in planning our trip. Returned last night safe and sound. I wanted to let you know how great the Disney Bus system turned out for dh and me using ECVs. We rented a Lincoln Town Car at the airport because due to neck and back problems I was afraid to ride the buses. As it turned out we were unable to fit two large Walker ECV's in the car, so we tried the buses and they were great. We learned there is a new "Nova" bus that you can ride forward right up the "plank" on which is easier than the other buses that have to be backed in and lifted up. We learned that we could ask the bus driver (if it wasn't a Nova) to radio for a Nova, a Nova would miraculously appear within about 15 minutes to pick us up.(along with other non riding ecvs. Also dh found out the ecv's are easier to clamp down once you get them on the bus. Also dh wanted everyone to know how much more fun it is for the spouse of the person who needs the ecv to get an ecv too so they can "scooter together." Scootering together was the most fun ride we had at Disney!!

Glad to hear that everything worked out for you. :)

We currently have three types of buses.

The RTS, which is the workhorse of our fleet. This is a standard floor bus, with a rear door lift.

The second bus is the Nova LFS, which is a low-floor bus with a retractable ramp in the rear door. For reasons that I cannot get into, this particular model bus, Disney policy requires guests in ECVs or Scooters to back up the ramp.

The third type is the Gillig Advantage, which is also a low-floor bus. These buses are brand new, and have just been recently placed into service. This particular bus was specially modified for Disney, and has a flip-out ramp. Because of the special modifications to the rear door area, and the ramp, at this current time (and subject to change at any moment) Disney is allowing guests to drive in forward onto these buses.
