Buses at CBR?

Just how bad is the bus situation at CBR? We're looking at the end of September and we're thinking about trying a new moderate resort (done POR and POFQ). We will not have a car so we will be 100% reliant on the bus. Are the buses usually crammed by the time the bus completes the 7 stops? Any info about the buses would be appreciated!

Depends on the time. But usually no. It does take quite a bit of time to go around the resort so plan extra time for that. One day it took us 45 minutes just to leave the resort (Due to loading/unloading ECVs at several stops)

We have been here for almost 14 days now (over Christmas period so a busy time) and totally rely on the buses. We are staying in Jamaica area and for most buses this is the first stop and so not crowded at loading. In the morning generally before 10 (i.e. When there are no guests on the buses returning to the resorts) the bus only does 3 stops and then exits the resort. Another bus does the other 4 stops and then exits. After 10am the buses do seem to do the entire circuit as dropping off people and picking up people. From Jamaica to resort exit (all 7 stops) the worse trip we had was 15 minutes (an ECV off, and one on), the norm is about 10 minutes. Most of the time, a bus leaving the resort is not full. We have always had a seat leaving and I would say about 95% people have a seat, most of our trips everyone has a seat. Returning to the resort, if we return at off peak times we always get a seat. A few times immediately after fireworks we have had to stand but this is rare.

CBR is great, I highly recommend it. Do not choose a resort on the basis of buses, I have not noticed a bus problem at CBR.

Since OP is traveling in September, does anyone know if this new bus system (one for each side of resort) is temporary during the holidays or if it's a permanent situation?

All of our stays at CBR have been during Free Dining when the resort is at capacity. We have never had to stand on the way to the parks. Even when we were the last pick up.

Our last stay was before the new split routing inside the resort, but even then we found the buses to be fine. We never experienced a long wait, and generally the internal circuit took about 10 minutes. We did once have a bus that filled before we hit all the stops. But there was another bus right behind us to pick up the remainder.

That is a great thing! That was one of my two biggest complaints about CBR. And I have to disagree with minnie mum, there is no way it only takes 10 minutes to make the full circuit around the resort--that would be less than 90 seconds to drive to each stop and load the guests.

But other than the time spent picking up guests, the bus service is fine. I didn't experience any long waits during my stay.
