Buses: AKL <-> AK Park

As AKL is so close to AK Park, do buses run more frequent between the two? Or do they just use less buses to compensate?

How often do they usually run? At opening time and during the day?

The normal schedule is every 20 minutes. More often during heavy loads.

Given the shorter distance, fewer buses would be needed compared with Animal Kingdom going to and from other resorts.

Actually buses do not always go back and forth. During peak hours, only one direction is full, namely from resort to park in the morning. A bus that arrived from, say, Contemporary and dropped off at Animal Kingdom might go to AK Lodge (empty short leg) and pick up AKL guests for Magic Kingdom (full long leg) then Contemporary (empty short leg) then AK (full long leg). The short full legs (AKL to AK in the morning) probably use back and forth buses.

I am pretty sure that the AKV-AK bus is a dedicated bus...meaning it makes a continuous loop. They may add more busses at peak times but I am pretty sure that one makes a continuous loop.

I believe almost all the other busses are on-demand busses. They will get radioed (or you will actually see them stop at a van on the way into MK) for what resort to pick up next. They will unload you and then pick up that resorts guests. Then when they get to that resort they get directions on which park to pick up next.
