Does anyone have any comments on this ? Positive or negative ?

I've always driven to Busch before but friends usually use the shuttle. The thought of relaxing both ways rather than having to drive is enticing.

We like to be at Busch for opening so is there a shuttle that would get us there for 9 am ? What about times coming back ? Oh, and do you have to book and, if so, where ?

We're staying close to Seaworld so would probably catch the shuttle there.

Thanks

Garry

Hi Garry, I'm looking at using the shuttle whilst I'm there in September - I looked around and the first bus apparently leaves Universal at 8.30am picking up at Seaworld at 9.00am, its last stop in the Orlando area is at La Quinta at 9.40am.

To be honest, I'm looking at getting to Busch Gardens for opening so we don't hit the queues and the shuttle looks to be getting to BG for late morning at best. Looks like we may have to book transfers from a specialist company.

If I remember correctly, we were picked up at 7.30am and were at Busch Gardens at opening time 9.00am and picked up at closing time. The bus was completely full at the Mercado Centre and did not pick up from from anywhere else. That was back in 2001 so it may have changed although I know that the popularity will not have done so I'm sure there will be no pick-ups pirate: .

We used this last month- picked up at La Quinta on the 192. It was OK but I must confess we'd drive instead next time. We thought it would be relaxing and a nice break from all the driving.
However......!! They showed a film on the bus on the way- The Mummy- good film I know but it was full volume at 8.30 in the morning- it was SOOO loud!! not relaxing at all! I also felt the film choice was inappropriate for young kids.
The bus was full and there were about 3 or 4 families whose kids we running riot, screaming, shouting, banging the backs of other seats etc- it was even worse on the way back and not relaxing at all- I couldn't wait to get off the bus! I suppose this was just bad luck and you might have a more enjoyable experience than us!

If these factors were not an issue it would have been fine- the drive was fine, the bus was prompt and it was interesting to have a look out of the window instead of driving.

We didn't get a choice of times for picking up or coming back (I think we came back at 6) - maybe more buses run at other times of the year.

You have to ring up to book- I thought Guest Services at Seaworld could book it for you but they won't- you have to phone up yourself. They will give you a leaflet with the number on and the choice of pick-up points.

Hope this helps!

We used this service late December 2004 and were picked up from the Mercado on I-Drive. There were approx. 4 buses leaving from there and as ours was full, we didn't stop to pick up anywhere else. We left about 0830 hours and took about an hour and a half to get there, the journey was slightly shorter on the return. If you use this service, you must call to book seats and then pick up tickets for the return journey from Guest Services(?)just outside the park during the day.

This was better than our last few trips when we have paid for transportation and have had multiple stops all over I-Drive and Kissimmee before setting off.

There was no choice of times for the return trip and all the buses seemed to leave together and arrived at the Mercado within minutes of each other.

Hope this helps.

Busch Shuttle = Absolute nightmare!

Turned up 30 minutes late, didn't get to Busch until 11:30, by which time it was packed. Hardly got on anything all day and then had to queue for 20 minutes to get a pass to get back on the thing!

Never, ever again, bj seriously lost it that day.

The I4 is supposed to have severe road works at the moment. I read on another forum that someone took 3 hours coming back from Busch Gardens to Orlando. It may be worth you looking at the road work situation before going because it wouldn't be much fun taking that long to get back.
