It's probably fair to say it is easy to go wrong at BG, but I like the park a lot and there is a lot there if you can take your time and avoid the worst of the crowds. For kids, there are smaller rides in both Timbuktu and Congo, plus the superb Land of the Dragons play area and show. For the whole family, the ice show, Moroccan Roll, the Bird Show and the Mapapa Acrobats (replacing the Russian troupe) are all worth seeing. Then there are three genuine five-star coasters, two smaller coasters and two other midway-type rides, two log-flumes, a water rapids ride, the excellent Rhino Rally and the up-close animal encounters of Edge of Africa and Myombe reserve. Brand new is the 3-D movie Haunted Lighthouse (lots of fun, although it might scare young children), and the Akbar's Adventure ride (currently down for rehab) is another of the area's good simulator rides. There is also The old Festhaus has been converted into the Desert Grill and there is a new show there which sounds as if it should also be good all-round fun. Add in all the other zoo elements, Anheuser-Busch extras like Beer School, the Clydesdales and their Hospitality House, and you have a really deep all-day family attraction - provided it is not too crowded.
