Busch Gardens

Probably in the region of 80-85 miles but it's fairly straight road & takes about 1 1/2 hours. Definately worth a visit if you have time,it's a big park so you are doing well to see all of it in one day but it's easy enough to fit all the main attractions in. If you like coasters then in my opinion they have 2 of the best in Florida ; Montu & Kumba; they also have a new ride called Sheikra that looks pretty terrifying!!
If you decide to go,take a change of clothes,as there are a few rides where you will get very wet- one of those video programmes on ITV used to show people getting soaked by a tidal wave on a log flume type ride- well that was BG!
The animal side is a bit better set out than AK & you don't have to be ultra early to catch them!
HTH SD :woohoo:

BG is def' worth the trip but due to the distance, not at the expense of a park that's closer.

I always go for a day and just prioritise the rides so you can see as much as possible but it is unlikely you will get everything done.

Agree that it is defenitely worth a day there, we have 2 days pencilled in this year because i like it so much. Montu and Kumba are awesome as is sheikra which was walk on during our October trip last year.

It is beautiful here is a website you can check it all out before you decide one way or ther other.

I would love to put my 2 cents in.

Katonga a show is breath taking IMHO
Rhino Ralley is better then do I dare say kilimanjaro IMHO
Sheikra takes your breath away and there are many more
Small rides for little ones scattered all over the park so we could stay together
Decent enough food
From I Drive about 1.5 hours away but easy traveling
If you decide its a go ahead have a wonderful time we all did we had a group of 8 from ages 5-66
We head down in Sept. -Oct. again with a group of 12 and we will be doing the park with them also

I live about 40 min. from Busch Gardens, and it is a great park. We go all the time and have passes. I say if you have the time, go visit! Great for all ages! I would get there right when the park opens to optimize your visit. Shiekra is the newest "Dive" coaster, however the lines get long fast. I think the open at 9am, so if you left I-drive around 6:30-7am you should be fine.
When are you going?
School down here in Fl. starts around the second week of August, so that will alliviate some crowd factor!
Have fun!

we usaly go thefirst couple of days we are there as we are up early takes 75min to get there. With the time diferance at start of holiday we are there before park opens and you miss all the trafic.dont forget the beer tent

I really like Busch Gardens but I'm not sure I would try it on a first trip to Orlando as there are so many other parks closer to home :)

If you are huge coaster fans then it's almost certainly worth it though :)
