Busch Gardens

Between 1 1/2 to 2 hours to drive there depending on traffic

75 miles.

1.5 hours.

If driving over from IOA, wake up at 6am, and head out at 7am. You'll get to the parking lot at 08:30am when they open. Then you'll be near the front at the gate, and you can head to Sheikra for some early morning walk on rides. After that, come back to the front and ride Gwazi, because it loads slowly and the line backs up.

Robvia- thanks- my frinds are heading back to Universal and they were looking at the flex ticket so I decided to ask here about busch gardens-they have an almost 5 year old- is there anything at Busch for him? What can you compare Busch gardens to at Diusney or Universal-mainly rides, shows or both-thanks

Lots for a little 5 year old.
They have "Land of the Dragons" a huge play area with a big bounce house, kiddie rides, and a net crawl. Bring a change of cloths and rent the stroller, because there is water in the play ground. There's the "Lori Landing" right next to this where you can feed birds. You can go on the sky ride across the park and look at everything below. And you can walk thru the zoo looking at the animals. There's a petting zoo.

Busch Gardens is more of an amusement park with an african theme than a full theme park, but it's still quite a fun place with a lot of activities for the kids.

Gosh ShieKra,Kumba,Gwazi and Montu all seem like real rides. And Rhino Rally is unique. There are a lot of things to look at for small kids in Busch Gardens.Lots of places where you can see animals and lots of ways to see them.Thier shows are awesome too.Katonga is our favorite show in any park. The Skyride always gets high marks from the kids we take when they see the animals below.

BGT has loads for kids, and most of the little carnie rides never have much of a wait, 3 mins. tops. Not only is there stuff in the Land of Dragons, but also over by Haunted Lighthouse, which, BTW will be changed starting Feb. 18th, to Pirates 4D! Guess that makes a bit more sense seeing that Tampa Bay is home to the Buccaneers. It was shown in Williamsburg and Ohio before they switched to Haunted Lighthouse, but hopefully its a better show than HL is.

To correct a previous post, the petting zoo is actually no longer there. Where it was they have put the "Kenya Pavilion" I guess its a meeting place they can rent out during the year. They also used it this past October for "The Hunted" one of the haunted houses for Howl O Scream.

and the animal nursery is just to the left of where the petting zoo used to be. it's cool to see what animals have recently been born.

I guess they still have Lory Landing, though I did see a lot more birds on the way over to Sheikra
