Where shoud we eat at BG Williamsburg? What kind of prices should we expect?

Thanks!

We always like to eat at the Das Festhaus. It serves traditional German food like sausage, potato salad, etc. and of course you can get chicken or a hamburger;) . They also put on a show while you eat and the kids can even go up to do the chicken dance. Their prices are comparable to Disney or any other theme park restaurant. Here is a link that lists some of their other dining options:

Das Festhaus is the ONLY indoor air-conditioned dining facility in all of BG. We tend to eat there a lot b/c of that.

Prices are very comparable to Disney. You can also use your AAA card (if you have one) to get 10% off food and merchandise.

Thanks for telling me about the AAA discount -- We do have them, and that discount will add up with 5 people.

Here's another question: The BG website sells dining vouchers, and I was wondering whether they are a good deal. The adult one is for an entree, a side or dessert and a drink for $11.99. A couple of dinner shows are excluded. The kids' one is $7.99 for a kids' meal.

I didn't know they were selling dining vouchers. That sounds like it could save a couple of dollars. Entrees are in the $6-8 range and desserts are $3-4, drinks are roughly $2.

Another vote for Das Festhaus. Definitely the best food, nice and cool, lots of food variety, and a good interactive German dance show.

We really liked that Italian restaurant (sorry can't remember it's name) that is counter style and you take your food over to a Colisseum type theatre where they have entertainment. The food is good and the desserts are excellent!!!

Another one here for Das Festaus and the Italian area!!!! Great food and good entertainment. Das Festaus can get very crowded when it's REALLY hot!

While the beer hall in Germany is the BEST, we also enjoyed the Pub in Ireland. Tipperary, I think it was called. Very nice! If they still have the Irish sausages, yum!

Oh, and when in Germany, save room for dessert. The apple strudel and black forest cake are to-die-for!

Okay, one correction. The pub in Killarney Ireland is Grogan's Pub. There is also Grogan's Grill that serves food. I've never eaten at the pub and I don't know that they have a full menu like the Grill has.

As far as the vouchers go, that depends on how big of an eater you are. I'm not sure it's a good idea in all cases. My wife and I usually get a "sampler" platter that has about three different things on it and split the meal. THAT'S a money saver. Also, portions tend to be of good size and you can easily get away with splitting.

Although selections are small, breakfast at the Squire's Galley in Banbury cross can be good. It's also a good place to get your bearings and decide what you want to do and figure out what shows you want to catch. (Easy answer: all of them.)

Das Festhaus is great for lunch to escape the heat as stated before. Aim for a few minutes after a show there ends (check the entertainment schedule) and it will have cleared out a bit. Supper at Restaurante Della Piazza in San Marco is great because, even though it's outdoors, as the temperature cools, it's really nice and the shows (Holiday in Roma and Starlight Orchestra), are great.

Overall, I'd say that the Trappers Smokehouse in New France is the pricey-ist. But the selections there are more different than anywhere else in the park. No show there though unless they've made it possible to see into the "Jukebox 2004" show in the Canadium Paladium. That would be a very small viewing area compared to the size of that particular dining area.

Yeah, I know.... I'll stop now.

If all goes well, we'll be there this weekend and most of next week! (And you guys think you have it bad for WDW! :D )

I have a passport and we'll be there this weekend too :D

I would definitely find a stand that sold Cotton Candy. Nothing says summer vacation like a bag of Cotton Candy! Stop by the Fair Food poll and vote for Cotton Candy!
