Busch Gardens VA Christmas Town

We are looking forward to going this year. It's just an hour away for us.
I'm trying to figure out the best time to go. I've read lots of reviews from last year that said the first weekend last year was packed. So we purposely didn't go this past weekend.

We are thinking of Sat., the 11th. I think Sunday nights will be less crowded than Saturdays, but not really practical for us with the kids having school the next morning.

What is everyone's opinion of Quick que? Does it need to be purchased ahead of time? If it would help us avoid the long waits for the attractions/shows that I have heard about, it may be worth it.

I don't think there are enough rides open to justify the purchase of quick que. I wonder if it's even offered during Christmas Town?

They do offer it, and I've read where some people recommend it just for Christmas Town.
THey just offer the $15 one.
It's not so much for the rides, though a few of them are open and are included. It's more for the shows and seeing santa, which can get really crowded. You get FOTL for Santa, skyride (once) and Griffon, Europe in the Air, and Darkcastle (unlimited). You have reserved seats for the shows. Last year some of the shows were packed, and if you didn't wait for an hour, you didn''t get in. I don't think the penguin exhibit is included, which is a bummer. My dd is all about the penguins. I hear there is a much better penguin exhibit this year. I don't think it was busy every night- mostly the first weekend and end of the season.

We don't do quick queue during the regular season- I have a season pass, so when I encounter crowds I can come back and get more rides in on less busy day. But since CT is a special event, and we are only going this one time this year, I don't want to spend the whole time in line. Last year I don't think it was busy every night- mostly the first weekend and end of the season. But they are really promoting it this year, so I anticipate more crowds.

We are going this year it will be a first. The only reason we are going is becasue twiiter had a code that they were sellong so many tickets for $5 each so since there are 6 of us I jumped at it.
So my dh is away so we will be going once he gets back mid December. I think we only may only be 20 min from Williamburg so if it sucks then I am only out $30 and a stop at yankee candle will make the trip worth it:rotfl:

We went this past Saturday night and were given 4 $15 off cards to Yankee Candle Flagship. You have to spend at least $45 and they expire December 13th. Where are you located?

Can anyone offer a comparison between BG and Hersheypark's CandyLane by chance?

We've waited forever to do just a few things in Hershey CL before so it'd be worth driving south instead of north if BG shows/attractions were comparable. Plus, I'm thinking an overnight at Great Wolf would be a terrific break before the drive home thru DC beltway traffic...
