We are planning on going to Busch Gardens the day after Memorial day for about 5 days. How crowded do you think it will be? The local schools are still in session, so that should help (we'll be there weekdays). I know its not a terribly busy time at WDW and with Harry Potter open at Universal, I know a lot of people will be going there.
This will be our last family vacation with our oldest son as he graduates h.s. May 21st and leaves for Basic Training June 1st.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

It should be a very peaceful trip, weekdays at Busch Gardens are wonderful. BG is more of a "locals" park, so when school is in session it can be pretty empty.

We've been meaning to go for the past several days to scope out the crowds but the weather has been chilly and miserable. We might go tomorrow and I will report if we do. But I never worry about crowds there because their Quick Queue is so reasonably priced. Just get one of those if the lines for the major rides are long and you'll be assured of doing everything.

I am a fan of BG and love the combination of thrill rides and animal encounters, but I question that there is enough for you to fill 5 park days at BG? Are you perhaps combining this with other area sightseeing? Or will you be travelling to Orlando for SW as well?

I agree, after 2days you would have seen and done all there is too do several times over.

unless you did some of the really cook stuff the like the extra tours - feeding giraffes - seing how the roller coasters are done - there are like 5 or 6 really cool tours!!! including a friday night safari

I agree- 2 days is more than enough at BG Tampa!!

We weren't chickens and braved the cold yesterday:thumbsup2
It was DEAD. All coasters but Sheikra was open, and we were able to check out the brand new (returned from last year) Let's Dance which is a Dancing with the Stars type show. AMAZING SHOW! Check pics here.
After Memorial Day it tends to pick up, but before then? The busiest times will be the weekend. And they can be substantial, but if you do early in the morning and start at the front of the park and work your way to the back you'll have no problem seeing the whole park in a matter of a few days.
