Hi has anyone been on the sheikra ride at BG it looks huge and pretty scary which is what its there for.Any info most welcome. Can't wait to try it.

Just did this again last weekend and I can confirm this is a stunning ride. The opening drop is just jaw-droppingly awesome - it looks slightly more than vertical when you're in the front seat looking down at the 200ft 'chasm' below you but, if you can summon up the nerve to do it, it is a terrific experience, as the ride is so fast and smooth, it is the next best thing to flying. Try the single riders queue, too, if you can - MUCH quicker than the regular line.

DH and DS16 tried it in July. DS16 loved it, comparable to the Oblivion at Alton Towers. DH enjoyed the experience but wouldn't line up for ages for it. Best thing to do is get there as soon as the park opens and head straight to it, then it is a walk on ride. With it being a new ride it is very popular.

Personally I thought it was going to be a lot higher than it actually is. It is amazing how your brain blows heights out of all proportion.

DH and MIL tried this ride in June and the both loved it. Though DH did look a little worse for wear when he came off :)

It's nice to hear good reports about this ride. DH and I love coasters (we have AP's to Alton Towers and go there a lot!) and can't wait to ride this on our December trip. We have booked on the adventure thrills tour so we won't have to wait in line for the main rides.

:) Big respect to all those who have been on it, or are seriously thinking about it :worship: We watched this a couple of weeks ago and even DH who's just become a serious coaster junkie wouldn't attempt this one. It's the way they hold you teetering over the edge to look down that I didn't like.

We did enjoy getting splashed at the bottom of the ride though - most refreshing

Did it, loved it, would do it again! My daughter (aged 10) and I had it ball - it is great that she is now tall enough to ride with me!!!

Did it twice in July with DDs (13 & 11). The first time we were in the front row and Simon is absolutely spot-on. You get held for about a second (seems longer) and then dropped straight down. Absolutely awesome !!

The good point is that there is no front row line because each car only takes a limited number of people (8 x 3 rows as I recall). Means you have a 1 in 3 chance of the front row without having to stand in a specific overlong queue unlike other rides.

Has to be done !

It was still being built when we were there last December and it looked awesome!

Can't wait to try it out next October! :teeth:
