Busch Gardens Questions...

Hi everyone:

I'm a regular on the Dis boards, but never here on the "other side of Orlando" forums.

We're thinking of tagging a 2-nighter onto the end of our upcoming Disney vacation and doing Busch Gardens Tampa. We've been to WDW many times, but never to BG. Two of my kids are ride junkies and the other one is a wild animal lover, so I figured this would be a great place to go!

I have a few questions that I hope someone could answer:

1. Are there any places to get discount tix?
2. Any suggestions on a hotel close by? I see on their website that there are "partner hotels"...?
3. Do you feel this is a one-day or two-day park?
4. How far is it to the airport in Tampa? We may just fly home from there instead of driving back to Orlando.

Thank you for any help or suggestions you can offer!

Sammy

Since the new owners are now in control I have not heard of any discount tickets except for Florida residents. A small number of the national chain motels have properties on nearby Busch Blvd. and Fowler Ave. I would recommend 2 days and try to pick days between Wed thru Sun to take advantage of the entertainment being provided during Real Music series and also Lets Dance performed by Burn the Floor. The airport is about 30 min drive from the park and is a good airport to leave from because it does not have the conjestion problems of the hub airports.

You can get by with one day, especially if you buy if Quick Queue if it is crowded (gets you to the front of the coaster lines and Rhino Rally).

i'd say two days if you're going during the summer. Do they offer the second day free like sea world??
and as well they have a water park across the street, adventure islands. We usualy only go to busch gardens, even though our tickets allow for the water park. We just go to aquatica all the time.

It's a fun park and i love the new africa area. Really fun play area, and the tigers are always up and doing something. They have this peep hole that's in their enclosure. When my friend got his turn to look up through it, one of the white tigers laid down on the top of it. So there's a really cool pic of him standing on the ladder with the tiger above him.

Unfortantly, we've only gone in the off season when lines were 10 mins at the most for anything. But i'm sure some can get quite long in the busy season.
