I know I'm in the Universal forum, but it's your opinions I'm looking for :) Each trip, we go to Disney for several days and Universal/IOA for 2 days. We like thrill rides (although I realize Disney isn't known for thrill rides LOL) We are considering going to Busch Gardens or Sea World one day on our next trip. What do you think would be better? Does either have a fast pass system? OR any way to get through the lines faster? How are the lines in general? (We'd be going late April or early May).

Any input would be appreciated :)

Thanks!!

If you want thrill rides, go to Busch Gardens! My kids are coaster junkies and its their favorite theme park in Florida. No fast pass system, but we got there for park opening and they were able to ride them all at least once, and some more than once.

We like SeaWorld, but is more shows/animal exhibits than it is rides.

There is a Sea World board here on the DIS...just FYI.

Sea World has 2 big coasters now and a flume ride (Journey to Atlantis), Busch Gardens has many more coasters and both have great food, animal exhibits and atmosphere.

Before Manta at Sea World opened I would have said go to Busch Gardens, now it's a bit closer between them

I would definately recommend Busch Gardens!! Seaworld has three rides (Im not going to count the terribly sickening simulator ride). Manta and Kraken are great. Journey to Atlantis is ok but soo run down and in major need of refurb. The rest is shows and exhibits.

Busch Gardens however had many many rollercoasters (Sheikra is the BEST!, Montu, Gwazi, Kumba, Python, Scorpion to name just the rollercoasters). Then you have flume rides and a raft ride. On top of all of that you have shows and exhibits.

IMHO Seaworld has turned too 'money orientated' and it's extremely noticible. I really didn't enjoy it htis year but I always enjoy Busch Gardens. Plus, we go every July and the park is always empty! Maybe luck (we've been 8 times) but I think because it's not in Orlando that helps.

In my own opinion, most of the coasters at Busch Gardens are mediocre with the exception of Sheikra. But even with Sheikra, the ride is really, really short. :x

I think either which park you choose, you'll have fun but I don't think SW/BG do it as good as Universal/Disney.

Busch for sure! Manta is great, but overall SeaWorld is not a thrill ride park. Here's my report on Busch's coasters:

SheiKra is AMAZING!! By Quick Queue for a one-time front of the line on all the major rides.

I believe that both theme parks are really good but it will depend on where you are staying and what your family in general is more into. I know my family likes more of the sea animals such as Penguins, Polar Bears, Seals, Whales, and Dolphins. I love roller coasters and Manta is my families favorite coaster in Orlando now. SeaWorld offers a "Quick Queue" pass for $19.99 that allows you to cut about 95% of the lines in each attraction and the pass is good for all day so you can ride Manta 10times in a row if you would want to like I did a few days ago.. It is also much much faster and efficient than the Disney Fast Pass or Universal Xpress Passes. I enjoyed Kraken but it is not even near the quality of the Hulk ride at IOA. Journey to Atlantis is still my favorite flume ride after all of these years even though it is in bad need of refurbishment.

I love SeaWorld but I still think Disney/Universal has the better thrill rides and attractions.

Busch Gardens is well known for their thrill rides,Sheikra,Montu and Kumba are considered coaster enthusiasts dream coasters.I like their Gwazi wood coaster even though many don't because it is a bit rough,Cheetah Chase and Scorpion are their smaller coasters.Sea World has one of my favorites in the floorless Kraken and now with Manta another top notch major coaster.Aside from coasters Sea World has more to do as far as shows and is a really nice park.Busch Gardens is also very nice inside but the area outside the park is not as nice.If you like thrill rides go with Busch Gardens.
