Has this ever happened to anyone??? :confused3

We were on a MK bus and the driver went to MGM!!!!!! He made a announcement that he had made the mistake- but I have never been on a bus that did that before!!

What stinks was- we had ressies at Whispering Canyon and we were about 1/2 late because of this-- the WC is not a big deal being late for but I cant imagine if someone has ressies for CRT!

It was on Thur Nov 30th from POP-- any DISers on the bus that day??

:rotfl:

I have not experienced that, nor have I heard anybody else say that. I am glad your reservations were not for something where you would have been penalized in losing your table and deposit.

We've had them go to a different resort but never the wrong park.

They all need to get TOM TOM because Goofy is giving out bad info somewhere.

We never had one go to the wrong park but did have one go to the depot lot with about half a bus load before. He never said a word and just shook his head, laughed and turned around. We all just laughed with him and told him he couldn't quit for the evening yet.

We had a driver to take us to AKL instead of WL in 2005. He was clueless in trying to turn around and get back toward the right direction!

This happened to me too! It was very early in the morning and there were only about 8-10 of us on the bus, and I was probably the only one who spoke english and knew what the route to MK was supposed to look like. The other passengers were a bit confused when the the bus stopped at AK. I explained to the driver that we wanted MK, and that is what was on the sign on the front of the bus. The driver had to radio for permission to go from AK to MK.:earsboy:

We were in the DTD line at PC last week. A bus pulls up that has MGM on the sign but he pulled up to our stop. We were at the front of the line. He came out of the bus and said we could get on. I asked him if he was going to DTD or MGM. He said MGM. At that time he realized he was at the DTD stop. He appologized and then moved the bus. Had we not asked we would have go to MGM.

As were leaving the park at closing one night, our bus driver was completely confused. She was suppose to be taking us to POFQ. Instead, she took us to Saratoga Springs. On the way back to POFQ, she missed the turn into the resort again. Now, this all might have been amusing at any other time, but it was late. There was a bus (standing room only) full of very tired people. On our third pass by POFQ, the whole bus was yelling "turn here". On the plus side, we did get a nice LONG tour of the outside of Saratoga Springs.

Never went to the wrong place, but I did have a driver who went in through the wrong entrance at POP. I'm pretty sure he went in the exit, because we ended up facing all the other buses and he had to do a 12-point turn to turn us around. It was exciting! (In an oh-my-gawd-we're-all-gonna-die kind of way.)

Never had that happen, but last Saturday my dad got stuck on a bus at DTD. My family was waiting for the bus at the Poly, my dad was in his scooter and the lines were crazy long. My BIL and niece managed to get on the first bus with my dad and my sister, niece and I got on the second bus (which came a minute behind the first and was empty.) When we got to DTD we couldn't find the other three so we called them and found out they were at the next stop and they couldn't get the ramp lowered. It took them about 30 minutes to get him free from the bus. LOL

Sounds like he needed some coffee! :teeth:

I once boarded the boat to WL from the MK, but the boat driver was new and stopped at the Contemporary first! It ended up taking like 40 minutes to get to the WL. Oh well, it's a beautiful trip!

we were waiting at the DTD west side bus stop where we were droped off. We waited and waited and then the bus came. He could not find his way to WL. I had my eyes closed and did not know we were lost. I opened my eyes to see he was driving down Apopka-Vineland road.

As we can see, the bus drivers are only human and make mistakes. Leading me to wonder ... if there have ever been any bus accidents on WDW property. Sometimes those drivers go so fast, and the way they turn corners it feels like the bus might tip over. I've had to cross my fingers and hold my breath on more than one occasion. I'd much rather the driver take me to the wrong destination than wreck the bus!

Just got home last night from 11 days at WDW.

Thursday night we were at Epcot.

Got on the bus to return to All Star resorts (10:30pm or so) and after a while I realized we were not going the right way. The driver drove us into the MK lot (through that hard-to-miss gateway), but knew her mistake and just kept going... following around the road that leads directly back to the exit w/o going into the MK lot. She never said a word, but it was clear she took a wrong turn and had to make a big loop to return us to the proper direction.

I'm sure it happens a bunch with all of those drivers and all of those routes.
But, for the most part, the drivers get the job done without a hitch.

When it is some other part of Disney that made you late, shouldn't the restaurant seat you "next" when you arrive?

Once several years ago took a bus from All Star Music and on that trip it was supposed to go to 'Sports after 'Music rather than before. The driver missed 'Sports coming back from 'Movies and simply announced that affected guests would have to go all the way to (Downtown Disney) and ride back.

Didn't find out whether there was not enough space on the bus for the next load of passengers going from Downtown Disney to the All Stars.

We've had two different drivers take us on the scenic route. Once, I have no idea where the heck we were; don't think the bus driver did either!! The other time the driiver went to the wrong resort. Both happened at park closing, so a lot of tired riders were very vocal in expressing their displeasure!

A couple of years ago, we were leaving MK and boarded a bus to take us back to POR.

The bus driver had other ideas! Instead, we went to CBR and took the loop around the resort. Yeah, it took us longer to get back, but it wasn't a big deal to us. Besides we're CBR fans and it was a nice way to see the resort.

On a trip in 2005. About 11:30am.

We wanted to go to MK from DAK (one of those direct buses between parks).

We board the bus that says TTC (or whatever) because that's where the buses from PARKS take guests going to MK.

En route, our driver is passing by Typhoon Lagoon and he just makes the turn to go into TL.
I'm thinking THIS is odd, and at that moment the driver says, "Oh, I'm sorry. This is not where I should have turned. I just did it out of habit."
He tells everyone that he will go on thru the TL bus stop area and pick up anyone there that is heading our way, and apologizes again.

There are only about 10 people riding with us so I yell-out (kidding) "Well, you owe us a FREE TRIP to the Magic Kingdom."
(As though anyone is ever CHARGED for the trip, anyway.)

No new riders at TL and we are on our way with no more than 3 minutes added to the total trip due to our added "loop" thru TL.

As stated above, only RESORT buses go to the loading area directly at the MK front gate. All other buses go to TTC, and riders must exit and go to MK via monorail or ferry.

Well, our bus driver turned and asked me, "You said you wanted to go to Magic Kingdom?"
I said, "Yup!".
And he drove right past TTC and took us to the very edge of the bus area at MK (closest to the front gate) and opened the doors.

I was very surprised and thanked him as my DW and I (and the others on the bus) exited. That little "joke" I yelled out saved us at least 20 minutes of TTC-to-MK riding.

So if you want to go someplace SPECIFIC in WDW, be sure to tell your bus driver, he just MIGHT take you there.
