Good Morning! We will be staying at Fort Wilderness in a Cabin this January. Very excited as I haven't stayed here since I was a kid. We reserved a golf cart. I'm just a little confused on transportation to the parks. I know we can take the boat to MK. However to go to AK, HS, Epcot do we catch the bus from the Settlement depot or Outpost depot? Thank you!

You catch a bus at the outpost (near the check in/front desk area).

Ok thank you, is it my imagination or did it use to be the settlement depot?

The Settlement Depot is the one down by Pioneer Hall that uses the road to Wilderness Lodge. The Settlement Trading Post is down there too. The buses to the non-MK parks have run from the Outpost as long as I've been going to the Fort. :confused3

Thank you! Is there a bus that goes to Wilderness Lodge? That may be what I was remembering!

No bus to Wilderness Lodge, but you can take the resort boat ride over there at the Marina.

There is a bus, I have been on it and seen it many times.

I want to think that back right before or right after WL opened that there was a park bus that was from the Settlement. I cannot remember which one so I might be imagining things. I wish I remembered if I kept some of those maps from 1993 or 1995.

I googled a map and this came up so that's why i was confused.. until I saw it said MGM. Haha.

Yeah, last time I stayed in 1500 (on the Yellow internal bus line), the bus got to the Settlement and then changed its destination display outside over the driver's head to "Wilderness Lodge" so I didn't have to even get off the bus since that was my destination anyway.

I'm pretty sure you can catch a bus to Magic Kingdom from the settlement too (seems like I saw one there when we were there in Sept). I am guessing maybe they do that since sometimes the boats can't run because of weather? We stood there a long time one evening waiting on the right internal bus to show and I feel like a couple of MK buses came by but I could be wrong.

You can take a bus from the "Settlement" to MK, but it's not a Direct Bus. The Yellow Line will go to the Settlement (internally) and then from there it goes to the Wilderness Lodge (so yes Cait8383, you can take a bus to the WL). From there, however, if you want to go to the MK you can either walk down to their dock and take the boat (which seems silly unless you just wanted to see the lodge) or Transfer from the Fort's "Yellow" line to the bus that goes between MK and WL. Taking this route, however, is generally MUCH longer. We have done this twice (well actually going the OTHER way from MK to WL and then back to the Fort). First time was because they stopped running the boats one night (not sure what the reason was) and we were re-directed to the buses. The second time was this past August. It looked like nasty weather was coming and there was lightening in the distance and DW didn't want to be on the water if the storm came in.

Both times, the "Wait" to transfer at the WL was about 20 minutes or so. So plus the additional wait time (at the other ends of the routes depending on direction) it can be significantly longer to "Bus" to the MK.
