Bus transportation to theme parks

We are new DVC members! Yea! Joined on the Disney Wonder.

Our home resort is BLT but we were unable to get our home resort for October 2010.

So we are booked at SSR. We fly to orlando and have in the past used bus transportation from POP Century.

Can someone tell me about the Disney bus service to theme parks from SSR? I have heard that the resort is very spred out and maybe renting a car would be a better option.

I am also looking at a future reservation at AKL. How is the bus transportation from there?

When we stayed there we had a car but used buses to go to the theme parks- we were in Carousel so we were the 2nd bus stop. We always had a seat and didn't find it took more than 20 minutes to get anywhere(once we were on the bus)- we never had to wait long for a bus either.

It depends on what you expect I think- if you are at the last stop and expect a seat or if you expect to wait less than 5 minutes every time than you will be disappointed- if you realize that the buses come about every 20 minutes than you should be in good shape.

At AKL- Kindani is easy to catch buses from- at Jambo we found we regualrly had to stand on buses.

When I've stayed at Saratoga Springs--we used our car to get around. It was just easier. At AKL-Jambo, we used Disney transport even though our car was available.
