bus to park for early ressie ?

Is it realistic to expect that we should be able to grab a bus to AK from CSR for an early b-fast before the park opens without having to wait for a really long time? I really don't want to have to get a cab, but I also don't want to sit and wait forever for a bus when I could use that time to sleep a few extra minutes!

Buses start running to MK about 6:30 and to the other parks about 7. That early, they operate less frequently than later in the day - about every half hour. What time is your reservation?

I'm hoping for an 8 am ADR at Tusker House this December. So I'm interested in how early we should be at bus stop. 7:20?

And is it a good idea to check at the resort front desk the night before or is that a waste of time?

Perhaps someone with recent experience can help out:

It USED to be the case that the parking lot/car gate entrance to AK did not open early to allow for people with early (prior to park opening) ADRs to access the park via car. Buses were the ONLY way to get to the park entrance ahead of park opening. The nightmare (and we fell into this) in trying to take a taxi over was that the taxis also were NOT allowed through the parking lot entrance. SO, there we sat, watching the meter run up, watching the buses sail through, watching the time go by when we should have been entering the park to get to our 8 a.m. ADR.

Just telling you this so that you know ahead of time if taking a taxi is a viable option or not. We've never stayed at CSR, so I'm not sure if 7:20 is good enough for your bus stop wait or not.....

I would be out at the AK bus stop by 7, at the latest. The buses run less frequently than the regular buses do...so if you get there at about 7:15, and the AK bus is pulling away, you may have to wait for another 20+ mins for the next one to come, which would make you late for your ADR. Then, once you get to AKL, it will take you about 15 or so mins to get to your ADR...be sure to plan accordingly.

I haven't heard anyone talking about cabs to AK for early ADRs lately. I'm not sure if that's the same as it was, or if Disney now allows cars into the parking lots before 8 (or an hour before park opening). Hopefully,someone will have some insights for us.

Would concierge at the resort know what time the 1st bus to AK arrives in the morning??? We have a 8:25am ressie for Tusker House. How do you go about getting into the park to get to the ADR?? Do you have to go to the turnstile? I am just worried about getting there in time!!!

Those that work inside the resort are usually pretty clueless as to how transportation works. For an 8:25 ADR, be outside at the AK bus stop by 7:15. If you just miss a bus, it may be 20 mins before the next one comes along. When you get to AK, you will go all the way over to the right side of the turnstiles...at least that's been the way it worked when I've entered early. You should have your confirmation number handy. Most CMs will ask your name and check their clipboard to make sure you do have an ADR. Then in you go. Very easy.

I say the first bus comes at/around 7; goofy4tink's experience indicates the first bus may even start earlier than that. Either way, her "be waiting by 7:15 is excellent advice.
