OK, first there is no bus to Chef Mickey's which is in the Contemporary Resort.
You have to take a bus from your resort to the Magic Kingdom. Then walk a fair distance to the Contemporary.
My 12 yr old daughter wanted to eat at Chef Mickey's we unfortunately had made a last minute trip to WDW and could only get an ADR for the opening of the restaurant one morning at about 7:30? I think. This meant we had to get up early and catch the first bus from the resort (we were at POP Century).
Unfortunately the drop of for POP Century bus at Magic Kingdom is at the back of the bus unloading station and means you have to walk all the way around the bus station and then down the sidewalk to the Contemporary. It would be nice if they would put a crossing so you wouldn't have to walk all the way around. And if you try to cut across the bus parking lot you will get scolded by the bus drivers ( I know because I tried that earlier in the week).
We were the only people waiting for the bus that early at POP Century and when the bus picked us up the bus driver asked us where we were headed, we told him we had the ADR for Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary and he smiled and said we were on the right bus. After waiting a couple minutes to make sure no other guests were going to join us he pulled out. My daughter promptly laid down and fell asleep on my lap. The bus driver surprised me by pulling into the Contemporary Bus drop off instead of the Magic Kingdom drop off so we only had a very short walk. I thanked him very much. This was just such a kind thing to do. It wasn't a big deal really but just very thoughtful to help us out. I am cross with myself for not getting his name because I would really like to give him some kudu's.
Just goes to show you that there are some great cast members out there in all parts of WDW.
