Happy New Year All- I know bus times are dependent on how many people have booked but I was wondering the approximate times for the last month of bus departure from the Polynesian to PC? I know usually that the bus also goes to a couple of other resorts on its way. I'm trying to decide whether to use bus or private transfer to PC for upcoming Treasure cruise. Thank You so much for your help.

I can report back soon. Generally resort pickups are fairly early.

I would be interested to know this too!! Just booked the Treasure 2 day ago for Jan 11th!!! Staying 1 night at the Poly pre cruise.

I do know that resort buses do come much earlier than they have in the past. We took transfers to PC from Coronado Springs last year and were picked up at 9:30.

Thanks everyone and yes---thats the one I'm going on! Please anyone thats left from Polynesian lately--let us know!

Pick up times from all resorts is in the 9:45-10:15 range. Luggage must be ready for 7am pick up and you will need to meet the DCL rep in the lobby 30 minutes prior to your bus pick up time.

I'm very much on the fence as to using the bus service in the future. We did not have a good experience last month.

For those mentioning the 7am luggage pickup, does the luggage get transported on a different vehicle? Can you bring your luggage down to the bus at your pick up time?

Leaving Poly lobby today at 9:45am. Luggage pick up is supposed to be @7am so very soon :-)
Can you let us know what other resorts you went to and what time you got to the port? Have a great cruise!

Can you speak more to your experience and why you felt it was poor? We are sailing in 2 weeks and trying to decide if we book private transport or take bus from Poly. We are boarding group 2, so really want to be there by our PAT.

Yes. It goes in a van. You can not bring your luggage. They will not allow you to get on the bus with it. It’s carry on bags only.

It’s a long story, will try to keep it short. Our resort loaded the bus early. They went next door for a second pickup and said it would be no more than 5 minutes. It took probably 20 minutes sitting in the driveway. The bus left there, was literally seconds away from getting on the highway to leave property (at the light waiting to turn left) and the driver announced the bus was turning around to go back to the resort to pick up a passenger that had lost and now found their passport. It took about 10 minutes to then drive to a place just to turn the bus around. Got back and no one was ready to board the bus. Sat there at another 15-20 minutes waiting before a large group got on and then proceeded to complain about having to sit at the back. Ummm…maybe you should apologize to everyone one the bus. By the time we got to the port we were over 2.5 hours on the bus. Then just to make it even better once arriving at the port I think they anticipated some unhappy people so they walked the whole bus directly through security. Great, but they made everyone in the line step aside which caused some nastiness.

Maybe no big deal for some but in our circumstances it was.

Oh that would be a HUGE deal to me. I'm booking a private car!

To elaborate as I think the luggage statement isn't quite clear, you can bring your luggage onto the bus but you then have to carry it onto the ship, if you want your luggage delivered to the room you have to do the 7am or whatever drop off time. I do not trust dropping off my luggage at all so I always go on the bus with my carry on size roller bag luggage (goes under the bus) and a backpack.

ONLY if you have carry-on sized luggage. Large suitcases must be checked and cannot be brought onto the ship yourself.

I believe if one brings their luggage from their WDW room to the bus pick-up, the luggage will be checked from there and go on a truck. But regardless, one cannot bring their own larger-sized luggage directly to the ship.

I doubt we would do the bus from a resort again. I don’t feel like it’s a common occurrence but as I said, in our circumstances time matters.

They will not accept large checked bags on the bus. They only take carry on sized bags.

Going to other resorts is going to vary cruise to cruise. It will depend on how many people at each resort are taking DCL transportation, the route, etc. You could be the only resort, you could be the first pick up for that bus or the last pick up for that bus or anything in between. And they don't segregate the busses by resort type. I've stayed at the Riviera and been on a bus with people from CBR, AOA, and Pop. And I've been on a bus from Music and been on only with others from All Stars.

I just switched resorts for our pre cruise stay. We have friends now joining us and decided to book at Coronado Springs to save some money....OK a lot of money! Got to use that saved dough for Treasure merch!!

Anyway, we have stayed at Coronado many times and took the bus from there a few times with no issues. DCL does stop at Animal Kingdom Lodge first and then goes to Coronado Springs. We had two buses last time as there were a lot of guests from the two resorts. They were not Disney themed wrapped buses but just plain old Academy buses. They still showed the Disney cartoons/trivia onboard the bus.

Not all resorts will get the themed buses.

Edit....just a side note that my husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Poly back in 1979 and I still have the invoice....drum roll please.....$65 a night!!!!! Ha we thought that was expensive back then!! If only they could roll back prices. LOL
