Bus stops at Poly

I stayed at Poly in May 2003. While I was there, the area in front of Raratonga (facing the parking lot) was all under construction. When I was there a few weeks ago I went over to the Poly and now there is a bus stop over there. Is that the only bus stop for the resort now or is the original one still in use? Just curious.

Someone else would probably know better than myself, but I'm fairly sure that all the buses stop at that new bus stop now, and that area by the steps in front of the valet area is no longer used as a bus stop. Can anyone else confirm, or correct?

That's the way it was when it opened the week we were there last July. I don't think anything has changed.

The original bus stop was never more than an afterthought. There were no seats, no shelter, and wheelchair access was abysmal at best. The new stop is attractive, sheltered, provides easy access to all, and has seats.

The old bus stop is now closed, and all signage has been removed. If you go there to wait for a bus, you'll be out of luck. Technically speaking, buses should no longer be going down that way, but rather up on the other side of the stairs, closer to the porte cochere. (Disney goofed on the bus stop, and has us making an illegal left turn from a right lane. Drivers not wishing to make this illegal turn are forced to go down the Mears lane.)

Chip N Dale - your countdown indicates you are leaving bus operations. Are you leaving Disney altogether or just mocing to a different department?

I'm leaving Bus Operations, and transferring over to Guest Services/Front Desk Operations at Disney's Pop Century Resort. :)

Congrats!! PC looks like a lot of fun. Good luck with the new job. I will be at the Poly in Jan and I was going to look for you on the bus, but if we make it to PC for a visit I will look for you there!!
