Bus service at AKL

Since I'm hoping to stay there in Dec one question I do have is how is the bus service? I've visited a twice and just took the next bus that showed up and then transferred to our resort. We will have a car, but I'd rather not have to use it. I know I won't for our MK, it's such a hassle to either use the monorail or the ferry to get back to TTC.

We stayed at the AKL a few years ago and found the bus service to be fine. You do not share a bus with any other resort so that is nice. I know some people have said that they feel that they are so far from all the parks except for the AK but we liked staying at the AKL and did not think that the travel time was that time consuming.

I think AKL has the BEST bus service on property. Not having to stop at another resort, or sometimes two, makes it great. I think the remoteness is part of the ambiance. How could you feel like you're on an African Savannah if there was a castle, a haunted hotel, or a big silver ball in the background!?

I couldn't agree more. While the Polynesian is my favorite, I LOVE AKL. We will be heading there in 8 days.
Anyway, as far as people complaining about the long rides, honestly, it didn't seem any farther away than many other resorts.

The bus service is fantastic. As others have mentioned, there are no other stops between AKL and the parks. The buses seem to be arriving constantly. Yes, sometimes we had to wait for the bus for the destination we wanted, but you have to do that at all the resorts.

Hi there!

AKL has great bus service..we stayed there a few years ago. We only had one problem with the buses...ironically it was service to the Animal Kingdom...we ended up waiting 45 minutes for that bus...the driver was very apologetic and explained there was confusion over the bus schedule....with that one exception I thought their service was wonderful. We love AKL...you will have a great time!
