Is there any posts anywhere that lists the buses and where each bus goes and so on? This will be our first trip to Disney, and would be kind of nice to know ahead of time which buses go where and so on. Thanks.

Don't over-think this. The busses go from your resort to the park (or DTD) and back. That's all you need to know, there are signs at the resort and the parks to tell you where to wait.

If you think you want to go from one resort to another, you'll have to go to a park/DTD first and then catch a bus to the other resort. That is, unless you are going from one monorail resort to another (GF/Poly/Contemp) or around the Epcot resorts (YC/BC/BW/Swan/Dolphin) where you just walk.

This is from DIS guru, Robo:

There is "direct" transportation between all the WDW theme parks.

Most routes are via Disney Buses.

Here are the "park-to-park" Disney Transportation direct connections:

>Note: The MK bus connections arrive and depart only at TTC.<

MK/TTC> Epcot = Monorail
MK/TTC> DHS = Bus
MK/TTC> AK= Bus

AK> DHS= Direct Bus
AK> Epcot= Direct Bus
AK> TTC/MK= Bus

DHS> TTC/MK= Bus
DHS> AK= Direct Bus
DHS> Epcot= Direct Bus (Epcot Front Gate) or Boat (Epcot Intl. Gateway)
......Boats ("Friendships") make 3 interim stops at the Epcot area resorts.)

Epcot > TTC/MK= Monorail
Epcot > AK= Direct Bus
Epcot> DHS= Direct Bus (Epcot Front Gate) or Boat (Epcot Intl. Gateway)
......Boats ("Friendships") make 3 interim stops at the Epcot area resorts.)

The buses have their destinations shown on them on illuminated signs.
The bus stops at the parks are also marked with signage.

As a rule-of-thumb, allow 40-60 minutes to get from the gates of one park to the gates of another park.

I was wondering....I think the buses sound great, for when you are in Disney. But, what if you want to go to the ocean for part of a day? Is there a service? When I checked rental car costs it seemed the same to get a rental for all week versus just the day I wanted to go to cocoa beach. Is there a practical way to go to the ocean with out paying a taxi $140 one way or renting a car?

I think you would be better off renting a car for something like this. I know if you want to go to Universal for the day there is a bus service (it is a bit $$ but when you compare renting a car and paying for parking it is probrably equal or cheaper) We usually stick with the WDW buses for on property adventures but in the past we rented a car and toured Florida and visited family etc...

I checked this out for our trip this past July and the truth is there really is not an alternative that isn't going to cost. We rented a car to go to Cocoa Beach, and it cost $98 w/GPS unit(which we loved!), for one day. It may be worth it to rent the car for the week, and use it to get items from Walmart for the trip if you need to while you're there, or possibly a quicker way to get to an ADR if you're running late. I really wanted my family to experience the beach while we were there, so it was worth it to me. Happy planning!:wizard:
