Bus Route Question

I sat down and read the information that they gave us at check-in just this past week--typical, huh, for those of us that know it all ;) Anyway, in the Frequent Questions Section, I think, it stated that the busses stopped at the HH upon entry of the resort, then travelled through the resort and then stopped at the HH before leaving the resort.

We found that the busses stopped only on their way out of the resort, never once on their way in. We were in the very first building, #63 and the studio closest to the road. We would have loved to have gotten off without riding through the entire resort each and every trip.

Was this just because it was the week of July 4 or was the information wrong. This was probably the only thing that was a real problem for me, took about 20 minutes or so to get thru whole resort and then to learn that that probably wasn't the way it was supposed to happen makes it even more irritating. We thought several times of asking the driver to just let us out, but we knew that then everyone would want to be dropped off at their building and what a mess that would be. But a stop at HH first would really be nice.

My experience has been that the only bus which stops at HH on entry is the one returning from DD/TL- and it then is the "Internal" bus. The park buses rarely stop at HH first (a few times they will- usually in the evening). Every bus has stopped at HH as the last stop before leaving the resort. (I usually ask the driver- if that is my destination.)

I guess I'll have to dig out the information and reread that myself. No doubt I've been missing some really important stuff all these years! ;)

Let me add that building 62 is nearly as close to the Peninsular Rd. stop as it is to the HH stop. And Peninsular is the first stop on the way in to the resort. On our last trip we stayed in building 64, and got in the habit of getting on at HH, and off at Peninsular. The walk was really about the same, and it probably saved us 10 or 15 minutes minutes on the bus.

Try it! Every step counts at the end of the day when you're tired, but being able to lay down 15 minutes sooner can't be beat!

I think that's some "misinformation" that has stayed in the printed material. It's been quite a few years, if at all, when all buses made the HH stop first. (Found this out one night several years ago when trying to get a bus back from HH to Turtle Pond. Now I know to just walk over to Peninsular.) :smooth:

When we joined, Miller's Road was the only stop other than HH. Even then the park buses stopped at Miller's Road first.

On our last trip in late May, we did notice the buses seemed more flexible in how they navigated OKW. Some went to Miller's Road first, some went to Penninsular first and Miller's last. We also had several instances where the MK bus did not drop us off at the MK OKW stop, but at another resort's stop. There was also one time that the MK bus stopped at PO on its way to MK. We assumed these deviations were due to the bus-on-demand program.

We stayed at OKW in December (before the bus on demand started), and found that almost every driver had their own route thru OKW. Once driver stopped at HH first, one always did Miller Road first, and the rest did Peninsular first. The one thing I know was Turtle Pond (where we were staying) was last or next-to-last with all of them! We did also catch a bus out once that didn't stop at HH before leaving the property; not sure if it was the same driver that always stopped there first or not...
