Bus or Taxi Miami Airport to Ship?

I'm flying into the Miami airport the morning of the cruise, scheduled to arrive about 9am. I'd like to board the ship asap. I know the drill for trying to get an early PAT, but aside from that, is it better to take the DCL bus or a taxi to the port, in terms of timing? Experiences? TIA.

For 2 or more passengers, taxi will be cheaper and probably more convenient. Plenty of taxi availability at the airport. The taxi fare from the airport to the cruise port is a flat rate (was $27 + gratuity last I checked).

We took a Lyft last week and it was about a 20 min ride from the Miami airport to the port of Miami around 10am. Quick and easy and not that expensive either. Somewhere around $30-40 each way.

Things may have changed post Covid, but taking DCL transfers from the airport did not give you a PAT advantage the way that it does at Port Canaveral. I think mostly because they’re just aren’t very many people doing it. When we got off the bus with about 10 other people we just joined the general line to get in. Post Covid, Miami was very strict about PAT time. I don’t know if that’s still the case though as this was last winter.

We just got off the Oct 6 Dream cruise and arrived at the port around 10:30 am (with 11 am PAT). They didn't even check our PAT.

They did not start boarding until 1145am for both cruises we did.I was told that was the normal time. My dh took the train to Bristol st. There’s a Publix there he bought beer and then took a trolley to the port. I think train was 15 minutes trolley was like 20. If you got time to kill he thought it was more interesting than sitting in the terminal.
