We are staying at SSR for Halloween (our home resort is BCV) and needed to understand the bus situation. I've seen comments where people find it easier to rent a car (except for getting to MK) than deal with bus transportation (we have never had a problem at BCV) but here are my three questions:

About how far is it to walk from SSR to DTD buses? As far as DHS to Boardwalk?

Does the DTD boat take you anywhere near the buses?

What is the closest SSR building to the DTD buses?

We've walked both and if I remember correctly, they are pretty close to the same on an average. Staying in Congress Park will put you the closest to DTD Marketplace and I believe would be a shorter walk than HS to BWV. My guess would be the walk from the Congress Park pool to DTD would be no more than half a mile. If you take the boat, it will drop you off at the Marketplace as well and the busses are a just a short walk from there. To get over to Cirque, House of Blues, Dis Quest etc., you either walk or take another boat over. The closest building is in Congress Park, rooms 1101 to 1436.

The previous poster had the answers about walking. One note, though... the SSR boat now drops you at the Pleasure Island dock, not the Marketplace.

I'm wondering about the intent of your question. You realize there are no buses to the parks from DTD, right?

The bus service at SSR really isn't that bad. The buses can be a little crowded at certain times of year if you're at the Springs stop (the last one before the buses leave for the park). Aside from that, we've not had many issues with SSR buses. It's about the same as heading to MK or AK from BCV.

BTW, we'll be there at the same time. If I see you on the bus, I'll slide over and make some room for you on the seat. ;)

We are at ssr now. Have had only 1 full bus all week. That was going to mk. The rest of the time the longest wait has been about 15 min.

I think the busses from DTD to the resorts are hit and miss. We have never had great luck with our waits. If you request/stay in Grandstand....you are first to be picked up at SSR and the first to be to dropped off too.

Have had long waits at SSR springs up 35 minutes especially for Magic kingdom we are now trying a few different places to see what fits us.

No I did not realize DTD buses do not stop at the parks. Guess I will take you up on the seat offer. You will recognize us easily. Two adults & one child (14) all touristy looking with smiles on our faces.
