I am hearing that the bus is always full due to the free parking at DTD. Also there is no bus from any parks to DTD so people get on the SSR bus and walk over. If this is true, how big of a problem is this?????????????

We stayed at SSR last February during Presidents Week and had no problems at all with the buses. Not an issue in my opinion.

In three stays have never had a problem with this. We did have some full buses during the NYE and days after that week this past year but I don't think they were full because of people parking at DTD. They were full because we waited until after fireworks to leave the parks. There were a few times when there were people asking how to get to the walkway to DTD so guess they do use the SSR bus sometimes but it was not the norm. In Sept we usually had the bus only half full unless returning from the parks near closing time.

SSR over 7 times since opening. No full busses except after EMH FROM MK.
3 trips this year already and going back for NYE. 1 without a car for 5 days.

We do use the busses even when we drive. I'd rather laugh and joke with the kids than focus on the road.

Im sure it happens, but to say ALWAYS is an exaggeration of the situation. I wouldnt even say "often", IMHO "At Times" would be accurate.

Just got back from SSR and we had no problems with the busses. The only time it was full was for MVMCP. I dont see where it should be a concern.

a tip...the Springs station is picked up first.

I can echo what most everyone else has said. In our three SSR stays (including Christmas week last year), we have never had a problem with SSR busses. Minimal waits (10 - 15 minutes at most) and we have almost always mangaged to fit comfortably on a bus.... We certainly have experienced more crowded buses during our stays at the Values....

We were at SSR in September. We were in The Grandstand section which was the first stop for both pick up and drop off.

We had flawless bus service for the entire 10 day stay. We never waited for more then 10-15 minutes for a bus. The only night we had a wait was after MNSSHP and that was only 25 minutes.

We were really pleased with the bus service. It was hands down the best we have had in the past 11 years we have gone annually. :thumbsup2

I agree that there is no problem. we just returned from SSR & never waited more than 10 minutes for any bus & never had a problem with crowding. the system worked well for us.

ditto what others have said........:)
DD & i were there last june (Congress Park) & never had to stand on a bus. our waits varied from 0-15 minutes.
we walked to DTD quite a few times, & rarely saw anyone else on the path.

hope you have a great time ~ SSR is a beautiful resort! :thumbsup2

We were there Thanksgiving week and never noticed the SSR bus being used as a jump to DTD. Maybe we were just always traveling at the right time, but we generally had short waits and always got a seats.....and we were in the Springs.

I guess I'm the lone voice of negativity here. We stayed at SSR the first week of december last year (extremely busy time) and our bus experience was horrific. We were in Congress Park but usually caught the bus across from Artist Pallette. After three days of standing we started driving to the parks. Leaving the parks was even worse. We did notice alot of folks using the busses to reach DTD. Maybe that has changed now for the better. We adore SSR and cannot wait to spend many vacations there. This years trip was at OKW and we used our car right from the start. I guess we got scared off after that week at SSR. Hopefully our next stay there will be different.

The bus stop you were using is the last before leaving the resort so is most likely to be full when it gets there - We were there for NYE and several days after that and never experienced a problem with being able to get on the bus and most times had a seat. The time of day can also play a part and after park closing is a particularly busy time and often results in people having to stand on the bus which is not limited to any one resort. I will still take standing on the bus to driving in the traffic when leaving the park any day. We have stayed at SSR 3 times and often have had the bus to ourselves going to the parks - just lucky I guess. At OKW we have never really had any problems even during Christmas week. Hope you have better luck with your next trip.

we had horrible bus service in april (after easter) and again in nov (3-7) long long waits and over crowded buses was the norm every morning. the early entry park consistently had the bus that didn't come! one morning a passenger actually yelled at the bus driver because the bus was already so full that there was no room for people to even stand but the driver was still stopping at bus stops to let more on! it was terrible!
once at the parks i consistently waited for more than 15 minutes most times closer to 25 minutes. it doesn't sound like that much but when you watch buses for other resorts show up at the bus ports 2 &3 times while you are still waiting, it is maddening!
both times that we stayed at the ssr and had bad bus service, it was very full, possibly booked. ssr is a very large resort so if it is close to capacity, that's alot of people using the busses.

We've done 2 Thanksgivings at SSR and had no long waits for buses. Yes we have had to stand a couple of times but that doesn't bother us as I have older children. Had more of a bus problem the first weekend of May when we stayed at VWL(long waits 20+ minutes, I have no clue why? didn't matter what park you were headed to).

From what I understood from conversations, there were several persons on a bus I took to DTD from the Beach Club who had parked their cars at DTD, so if that's occurring it isn't just a SSR problem.

Everyone on the bus had a seat though.

I'd think that if people parked for free at DTD and took a bus to the parks, the last bus they'd take would be SSR. All of the other resorts have bus stops right there near the DTD and PI parking lots. It wouldn't make sense to walk to SSR to catch one; you'd have to walk right past the other resorts' stop.

We've stayed at SSR twice, between Christmas and New Year's both times, and thought that the service was great. One thing we like is that multiple buses can load up at once. At OKW, the buses line up and a bus cannot take on passengers until the ones ahead of it have moved on.

So no complaints from us.

we were there the day after Thanksgiving for a few days & never waited a long time for any bus anywhere. This transportation system is somewhat dependant on the hadicapped capacity of the bus. sometimes they havev to load scooters & tie them down & if there a r multiple scooters the time schedule gets thrown off considerably. So if the wait is exceptionally long, think of the good job being done to help the hadicaped enjoy there stay.
