If I have ADR for 8:30a at MK, what time will I need to plan to catch a bus to get there? How long does the bus take to get from SSR to MK?

Hi, does it really take 80min ? We are staying at SSR in July. Any idea of frequentcy and travel time of buses to all the parks (including water parks). Thanks.

Don't worry! It's definitley not 80 mins! I would think 5-15 mins waiting for the bus and 10-15 mins traveling (depending on what park/wp your going to). Just make sure you get to the bus stop at a good time and you should be god to go

and btw SSR is such a great resort! - Enjoy it!!! :wizard:

Thanks for the info. We are so excited. Not stayed at SSR before. We were thinking of using the buses just for MK as that cuts out the ticket centre. On the forums there are lots of opinions but mostly seem to suggest using the car for AK and if hopping. What do you think ? Worth using the bus for EPCOT on the 4th July !

I imagine 80 minutes is a typo. I'd love to see the details of how it could take 80 minutes short of a bus getting a flat tire.

Okay I'll play along.

Arrive at the bus stop just as an MK bus pulls away.

Wait for next bus = 20-30 (most likely not 30 minutes, but it could happen)
Ride to MK = 20
Walk from bus to ADR = 10

Now granted that's only 50-60 minutes. But they do like you to check-in for your ADR 15 minutes early. So that estimate of 80 minutes is high, but it's not that far out of the ordinary is all I'm saying. :goodvibes

You're right in that I left out the walking time to get to the ADR. I guess I was being more literal in just the "bus from SSR to MK" thing.

And I agree, better safe than sorry.

One hour is pretty much a worst-case scenario, with the 30 minute wait for a bus.

I just didn't want people to walk away thinking it would take nearly an hour and a half to get from a resort to MK.

I completely agree. Even with my worst case scenario above, it's under an hour.

I understand. And I just wanted people to take into account walking to your resort bus stop, waiting for the bus and then walking to the ADR. We had friends of ours go to WDW a week after we did. After we got back, they asked how long the bus ride was from CBR to MK. I told them about 15 minutes. Unbeknownst to me, they were asking because they had an early ADR at CP. They walked out of their room for an 8AM ADR at 7:40 and were very surprised when they were 30 minutes late for their ADR.

OR if you are stuck in traffic since they closed part of the interstate for the wildfire.....ASmo to DTD....yes over 80 minutes from pick up to drop off :)

Disney recommend 80 mins, we have had to abandon waiting for the bus at SSR in the past and get in our car to avoid missing our ADR. It has taken us anywhere between 40 minutes to 80 minutes in the past and this is based on actual experience rather than estimated waits. It will also depend on the time of year and things like EMH.
