Bus from DTD to MGM?

We're planning on having an early dinner at Wolf Gang Puck Cafe and go directly to MGM for Fantasmic afterwards. Is there a direct bus, or do we have to take the bus to a hotel, and then onto MGM? If it's the latter, we'd be better off taking a cab since we'll be short on time. TIA

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I am 99.9% sure that there is not bus from DTD to any park. You'll need to hop on a resort bus and transfer.

You're right. You could take a bus to any of the boardwalk resorts and walk to MGM.

I think you are correct. I think the reason is to avoid folks parking at DTD and taking a bus directly to the parks to avoid the parking fee. If you ARE at Puck's and want to take a bus, though, it's a short walk from DTD to Saratoga Springs resort and the buses to MGM run from there. Just go to the bus area of the Disney Marketplace and make a left. There is a nice pathway to Saratoga Springs. It takes around 10 minutes or so.

Great idea!! We've never seen Saratoga Springs before so I like that idea. How long a walk is it to SS from DD? I'm not exactly sure if I'm following your directions right. Is this path visible from the bus area?

The path starts to the leftof the bus area. SSR is directly ahead of you and hard to miss! To get a prettier view and not have to walk along the sidewalk of the busy road, look for a paved path off to the left that will give you a much better view. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the middle of SSR but there are bus stops before that so you should be able to get there sooner since you only have to walk to the first bus stop. I think that section of SSR is called Congress Park.

IF you can find one (maybe at the DVC site) try to look at an SSR map to see the closest bus stop . I'm pretty sure it's Congress Park. I think seeing it on a map wil lhelp you get on the shortest path to it.

Whereas Wolfgang Puck Express (at Marketplace) is walking distance from the Sarasota Springs bus stops, Wolfgang Puck Cafe (at Westside) is much further away as you would have to get right across the lake. In view of the fact that you want to get to Fantasmic as early as possible to get good seats, I would recon a cab is by far your best choice!
