Take it as it comes? When I was growing up you either took it as it comes, or not at all.:p So, I am used to the pickles, Ketchup, Lettuce, tomato, and Onion on my BK!:o

I have it my way. Cheeseburger with heavy ketchup only.:D

I take it as it comes.

I was the same way as a kid. In my family, whenever we ate out, if something I didn't like came on it, I either had to just eat it, or pick it off.

Then, when I took a job at McDonalds as a teenager, I was shocked at all the special requests! I wondered, why eat at McDonalds if it no longer tastes like it? Whatever.

But I still usually take it as it comes.

I get a Whopper, no onions (unless I am alone for a LONG time) no pickles) a fork and a knife, throw the bun away of give it to the birds, and eat the beef patty and small salad that accompanies it, lettuce and tomato with mayo.

we too came from a family that you ate it how it came. I now will order things without the onions

I once ordered the "low Carb" burger, minus the bun, and I swear it took LONGER for my order to come out! So, now I order it the usual way, and take the bun off myself.:o Tonight, I ate the bun, as that was my only bread for the day.;)

Now a days no bun for me either, but I ALWAYS order it with no tomatos. They are just gross.

Reminds me of DH last week. He was in Cleveland and had some kind of onion loaf (onion rings baked into one big blob). He said it was delicious, but he was glad he was alone that night.:p

Wow. I haven't been to BK in forever. Could be because there are like, 15 McD's in my town, but only two BKs that I can think of. I might need to put that on my to do list in the next couple weeks. :)

The only think I think I do is add cheese. I hate onions, but I usually scrape them off everything because I forget to ask for 'no onions.'

It was the same way when I was little, but then I got older and I realized I didn't have to eat nasty pickle juice on my hamburger just because some guy 40 years ago thought putting pickles on a hamburger was a good idea. So, now I ask for no pickles, please.

Gotta be my way.. i cannot stomach lettuce on a sandwich i eat it in salads if i get to top it my way ,, but salads have no reason to be on my hamberger:)

I remember having my FIRST BK in about 1964!::yes:: It came like it came, and that was it....I could only eat HALF of the whopper back than......now I could eat 2!!

I was guessing on the 40 years thing, I was going to say 30 years ago, but then I remembered how old I am. :earseek:

I think they've gotten smaller too, so it's not just you. :) I remember they use to wrap them in paper, cut them in half and put them in a box.
