We are flying into the Burbank AP for our August trip. We will most likely rent a car. I was just wondering if there are any other options to get to the hotels across the street from DL. TIA :goodvibes

Not quite sure about your question. Are you talking about perhaps not renting the car and finding out if there is any other way to get to the hotels around Disneyland? If so, your options are slim. Burbank to Disneyland is about 40 miles away. There is a Metrolink (a commuter train service) that has a station at the Bob Hope Airport (Burbank), and you can take the train to Union Station and then transfer to the Anaheim line and get off at Anaheim Stadium and take a cab to Disneyland. But the trains don't run that often (perhaps once an hour), and it depends on the time and day of the week you arrive (they have limited schedules on the weekends). You can take a cab, but that would cost you, especially if you run into traffic on the 5 south (which can be horrendous). If that was the case, your better off seeing about flying into John Wayne Airport in Orange County (which would be a lot closer). Hate to tell you, you're better off renting a car. The Los Angeles area is not known for its public transportation (though it is getting better).

I agree with the above assessment. A car rental is sadly the best way to get from Burbank AP to DL. You may be happy having a car readily available during your stay, as you can drive to restaurants a little further away if you want to.

Amtrak also stops at the Burbank station, and fare to Anaheim is $13 one way. Use BUR and ANA on the Amtrak site to discover the schedule for your dates. The only question is about getting from the airport terminal to the station - it's been described as "across the parking lot" so maybe it's walkable with luggage in tow.

Once in Anaheim you can take ART or a taxi from the station. DLR is about 3 miles away.

It's not really a big deal, because it's only about 100-150 yards from the terminal to the train station. Also since Burbank(Bob Hope) airport is so small you can save 100-150 yards of hauling luggage from the carousel area to your transportation compared to most large hotels. So it's a sort of even trade off.

As far as amtrak verse the Metro commuter train.... Neither has baggage service at the stations. Amtrak will run direct between stations, Metro requires a transfer. Amtrak you will have later in the evening options. Metro runs more often so may be more convinient.

Thank you all for your responses. I may just stick with the car rental, but I will check into all these options. :goodvibes :goodvibes

If you do the rental car, it allows you the flexibility to drive to the freeway, via the Disney Studios (off the 134 at the Buena Vista exit) - it's only 2 miles straight down Hollywood Way and turn east on Alameda for 10 blocks. You'll pass NBC and the old Jay Leno Studio on the way. You will drive to the next block after Buena Vista, past Providence St. Joseph Med Center - where Walt died (and I had my kids - best maternity ward ever!). The famous Animation Building it in the block between Alameda and the freeway - just off Buena Vista. You can actually drive right in front of it!

They are actually really nice about letting folks (who park across the street from the Alameda Street main gate) walk into the front gate and take a picture or two of the Seven Dwarves building as well as Legends Plaza and the original Partners Statue (the ones in the parks are duplicates). The key is to be very polite to the security guards and take your photos somewhat quickly. :thumbsup2 There is also a large statue of the bronze sorcerer's hat award that is given to the Legends, during their induction ceremony.
