We just had a person cancel and no subs can fill in tonite ... anyone wanna come over to play????

What time should I be there? :hyper:

we start at 7, but with the time change ... lol!

I would come but its dh b-day :teeth: We are always needing a sub in Bunco. We have actually played with on 8 people before.

wow- we are only down to 15 ... last time the hostess sent her mom home so we would have an even amount! I thought that was pretty cruel! LOL!

usually 16 ... 4 tables ... and i never make it to the m&m table

I miss bunko. I lived in GA from 92'-'94 and we had the best time playing.

I wish you were in my area. I'd be there in a heartbeat. :teeth:

Depends on 3 things:

liquid refreshments

snacks

and if you enforce the "upstairs" rule...no one is allowed up there 'cause it's impossible to clean it, the downstairs, cook for Bunco, decorate, and wherelse do you send DH and the kids?

Hope it was fun even if you had to play w/a ghost!

That's funny. I'm playing Bunko tonight and someone just cancelled out last minute. Too late to get a sub, as most of the woman have kids and need time to get a sitter, oh well.

LOL! well, we had many liquid refreshments ... the hostess didn't have any small kids, so house was immaculate, and lots of snacks:pretzels, cake that looked like a dice (I made! :) ), chips, dips, cheese balls, m&m's, nuts, popcorn and probably something I left out! It turned out ok! :)

We did have one new person who didn't quite understand why you moved to another table, one time this lady said, "oh come with me" and she said, " that is so nice of you to let me sit by you!"! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

hi we play with 12 - didn't know we could play with more

i'm playing tomorrow- anyone have any unique appetizer ideas???

I've only played twice. The first time was normal bunco, the second time a fundraiser for after-prom for our high school. The problem with the fundraiser was there wasn't alcohol served. Geez, don't I sound like a lush? So, my question, did you have alcohol? Guess living in MD I couldn't have gotten there in time, anyway.

HI njcarita ... I made a cool cake ... it was square layer cake and made it with white icing. Then, I put oreos on each side to look like a die. Ontop, I put 6 oreos (cut in half) and then on each side I did a different number so it looked like one dice. I saw it is TASTE OF HOME magazine! It is not an appetizer, but it turned out neat!

does three bottles of wine count?

I haven't played that one is years. I think I don't even remember how to play it.

Have fun.

The cake sounds so cute, Lynette!

We used to play many moons ago - one of our friends from our high school group moved away for a few years to Pensacola, and when she came back she introduced our group to Bunco! We usually had 4 tables, but sometimes only 3, and frequently we used a ghost. We rotated to a different person's house, once a month.

The hostess provided prizes (as well as dinner, beer & wine) and the prizes were always something everyone looked forward to. They weren't anything grand, but some people got very creative and found cool, interesting things.

We kept it up for about 5 years. One of my fondest memories is playing Bunco the night before my DD was born (scheduled C-section). We spent the night at my parents' house so that they could take our DS's to school while we went to the hospital at the crack of dawn. I stayed out so late that my mom called the hostess's house and scolded me to come home! :rotfl:

LOL bsnyder - It is addicting and you wnat to keep playing ... we have to set a time to quit or we could play all nite (or atleast eat and gossip) all nite!
