Hi-we have booked a night at AKL for myself and my two kids-my son is 15 and 5'11"-would he be too big for the bunkbeds? Are they just child sized? If not, maybe I could sleep in one....:p

Gee, We've stayed in a bunkbed room and I don't recall them being child-sized. But then again I'm rather short so maybe they just looked regular to me.

My 20 yo son slept in one last year and no problems. He is also 5"ll.

I tried lying on the bunks, and they are really domfy as are all the beds at AKL.

... and it was definitely long enough, and I'm 5'10". It would be tough for him to sleep on the bottom bunk (not a lot of headroom), but the top bunk should be fine.

Have a great time,
Sarah

We had a room the first week of January with a bunk. It seemed just as long as our queen bed. The only problem was a lack of head room in the bottom bunk. My ten year old son really wanted the top bunk so my 17 year old daughter got the bottom. She is only 5feet 4 inches tall, but still complained about not being able to sit up in bed without bumping her head. (which she did several times) For just sleeping it should be fine.

Thanks for the quick replies! I'm still fine tuning this trip-that is half the fun.....

Hi:

We were there this past april and they are just as long as the queen bed in the room. My son is 6'2 and did fine.

Love the resort. I really liked the set up of the sinks being behind a wall separating you from the rest of the room, we could get dressed in this area.
