Bunk bed ladder question

On the bunk beds first off, is there a ladder to get up there? And second, if there is, is the ladder straight or slanted? We are a family of pooh sized people and trying to decide sleeping arrangements.

There is a ladder. It is stored in the closet and when the CM makes up your room and lowers the bed, he/she will get it out and put it where it needs to be. When they close up the bed the next day, they put it away in the closet.

It is slightly slanted from what I recall.

Here is a picture with the ladder:

Also- is there railing completely around the top bunk- so no small kids will roll off? I think I've seen pics that show it along the side- but what about the head and foot of the bed?

I just seen your pic- does the couch pull out into a bed or are you essentially just sleeping on a couch with a sheet? Thanks!

Found another picture. As you can see here, it's only in the middle on the side. It was fine for our DD that was 10 but wouldn't let DS at age of 3 sleep up there.

The couch folds into a bed

Are there extra bed rails if we need them? Thank you:)

I requested a bed rail before sailing and never had to mention it on board. It was for the couch bed, not the bunk bed. It pretty much covered almost the whole couch and was perfect for my 2 year old

Just to clarify the upper bunk is not very big and I do believe there is a recommended maximum weight.

I know I would never climb up there:scared1:

I slept up there the first night of our recent cruise. Luckily I didn't have to get up to use the bathroom until the morning as it was tricky to get this 45 year old body down the ladder!

The weight limit marked was 220 lbs.

Hope this helps!

Oh 220 lbs is more than I thought!! I'm sure that is helpful

My kids prefer to raise up the table and use that instead of the ladder.

Thanks for the replies, we will need to rethink sleeping arrangements now. We have a 77 year old that is very able bodied and active, do you think it would be easy for him to get up there? He would be the only one because of the recommended weight limit. THANKS

The couch converts into a bed. The picture shows it as a bed. If you raise the 'front' of it and push it towards the wall it comes up and is actually the 'back' of the couch. And vice versa.. when the couch is open you just pull the 'back' of the couch towards you and it falls flat.

Well I wouldn't ask my 75 year old mom to climb up there. She's in fine physical shape - not an athlete - but no physical problems. But I still wouldn't expect her to climb that ladder.

I must truly agree with the above. I am 45yo, 5 foot 4 and weigh 128 lbs. I practice hot yoga 4/5 times a week and honestly had a hard time maneuvering down (not so much up) that ladder!

I'd have to go with everyone else on this and say probably not easy for him, and I think it's worse getting down than up. Just not easy to maneuver around up there :)

The bed is not very far from the ceiling. DS 13 is SMALL ( 75 lbs) and he found it cramped feeling up top. He could not sit up in bed....
