I just got off the phone with Member Services, making our HHI reservation for August. The lady I was talking to said that they're expecting to get down to 20 degrees in Orlando tonight. That's still better then we've got in Wisconsin, but not exactly vacation weather. We'll be staying at the Wilderness in 4 weeks, and I sure hope it warms up some by then!

It makes all of the panic over SAB closing seem kind of unnecessary, doesn't it?

We will be at The Boardwalk in 4 weeks, and hubby still says he wants to go to a waterpark! In this weather, I'll be lucky to get into the hot tub!!

It's only 7º here today, so the 60's/70's (Feb average) would be just fine for me.

Keeping fingers crossed!

It's nearly noon here in Central Ohio and we're sitting at a balmy 3 degrees. The winds are starting to pick up and we're supposed to drop to -5 tonight with 20-25 mph winds this afternoon and overnight. We leave for WDW on Feb 15th and even 50 degrees will be a great improvement but we're hoping for sunny and 70's.

Well guys, wish me luck. We leave tonight for three days. Here in Dallas it is only 30 today. Orlando is expecting 48-50 for a high tomorrow.

The way I look at it, I'm at Disney World and not at work! That's got to mean something.

Think of me around 8am tomorrow morning as I head to MK and straight to Main Street Bakery for some warm cinnamon rolls and hot cocoa!!!

I am just glad that I am not using my vacation time to be in a cold Disney World. I do agree that a cold day at Disney is better than a warm day at home, however, a warm day at Disney is the best scenario to me.

I saw that 20 deg on the news this moroning and I was just thankful I was not there. I would rather be enjoying my free day from work (cause of snow) doing laundry. Geesh, something seems wrong with that, too.

If we do indeed get frost, this will be my third frost in six winters. Didn't get one last year, so I guess we are due.

The first frost was gone with one spritz and two wipes of the wiper blades. The second one was hard, actually had to scrape it off.

Guess what I just discovered after living in my house for over five years?????

I have no heat, none at all. Not electric, not gas, nothing.

The funny part? My wife put the heat on one or two times in the past, and I complained about not needing the neat, it was comfortable enough.

There is a little thing on the thermostat that has a position for 'cool', 'on', 'off', and 'heat'

Who knew that the 'heat' was only kidding. I went out and bought a space heater.

Richyams,
In central FL it gets a lot colder than the Miami area. I have a heater in my central FL home and have used the heat quite a few times, not as often as we use the heat in our home in the Northeast, obviously, but it has still been used quite a few times. I have never heard of a house without a heater. Is this common in houses in the southern part of the state? All the houses in central FL, that I have ever seen, have heaters. We have also gotten frost a lot more than 3 times in 6 winters, one frost was so bad we lost several outdoor shrubs and bushes.

Just got back last night from Orlando. Last weekend was very cold for Orlando, I think; it was in the 30's at night, and upper 40's during the day. We wore our coats that we had come down with. Sunday and Monday were low 60's and by the time we left on Wednesday afternoon, it was 78. Perfect weather for being in Disney, but I was coming home instead. When I arrived in Arkansas, it was 22. That's the second time in 3 years that I have been cold at Disney. I don't think I will go down again in January. The low points are tempting, but I wanted it to be warm - not hot like summer, but warm. Just can't predict the weather, I guess!

It's cold here, too. I know it is warm for some, but for us in the south, it is realllllly cold. It was 10 degrees here last night with 9 tonight. Wish I were at "HOME" even with 30 degrees.

We're heading for Orlando tomorrow afternoon. We will be at the BWV all next week. Looks like it's going to be high 60's or around 70 all week. Today in Illinois it was 10 degrees with windchills at minus 35 -- burrr!! DH can't wait to thaw out. The 60's and 70 degree weather will feel like heaven to us. It could put a damper on Typhon Lagoon though.

Heck, even 40 would feel like heaven to me. I woke up yesterday to -14, with a windchill of -35. YUCK!!!

I just hope it thaws out before my March trip down there. It seems like you can't count on any predictions based on the "past" anymore. I don't expect to have water park weather, but I don't want to have to bundle up either.

I am sitting here right now in a GV at the Boardwalk and it's a balmy 28 degrees. They even closed area schools!!

I would still rather be here than home in Rochester!! ;)

They closed schools because it's 28 degrees????? Wow, I agree, that's cold for Disney and definitely rules out a ride on Kali River Rapids, but closing schools?

Erika

All this talk is just making me colder!!! 177 days till HH seems so long away!!
