Bummer..I Waited Too Long

I got a pin code back in December and I booked 6 nights at POFQ. A few weeks ago I changed the room to Poly. I changed my mind yet again and today I called to change the room to GF. Unfortunatly, there were no rooms left at GF for the promotion. So now I guess I have to sit around and wait for either AP discounts or general public discounts. Boo!

Sorry to hear you missed out. When we received our pin, we first booked at the Pop and then upgraded to the Poly for December. We then called last week and managed to change to the Poly for October. Based on your post, I feel fortunate to have been able to change my mind with success. Keep calling because I'm sure others are changing their minds too and hopefully you'll be able to squeeze a reservation to where you truly want to stay!

Me and DH really wanted a savannah view at AKL but they only have a bunk bed room available with the pin code the week we are going which costs more than a regular savannah room so we are just going to stick with pool view and hope that either something opens up with that pin or we will try to upgrade when we get there...regardless we have agreed we will be satisfied with pool view....we haven't been to WDW since 2006 and are really happy to be going and to be able to afford staying at AKL at all.

But I really hope you get what you want...I know it stinks to wait...we've been waiting for a decent pin code for 4 years!!

I am in the opposite boat than you. I want to stay at the Poly but they only had the GF, so that's where I'm booked at, lol! I'll trade ya if you want to go Dec. 3-11

Seriously, I would just call back every day. I'm sure that it's not that unusual to have people calling in and checking, and I'm sure that the room inventory is in flux, and they also may decide to open up more rooms, etc.

Call back and ask for Guest Services to check for you .. .The frontline CM will assume they know everything and tell you no no.. there is no availability.. but have them check anyway.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to keep checking back periodically. I called and spoke to Guest Services and got a very friendly CM he said there were no other PINs under our household and I should just wait until the AP rates come out. Does anyone know when the AP rates for this time of year (Nov 29-Dec6th) come out? I so hope we can get a room at GF, GV.

So I'm wondering which option would be best, keep my reservation at Poly with the PIN code for now, until I can get a different discount (hopefully) for GF. Or, should I book GF at rack rate right now with a package and then when a discount comes around apply it to my reservation. Does it matter which way I do it?

If you have a discounted rate for the Poly, I would stick with it. You can always try to get another pin in the meantime for the GF. I am kinda surprised they wouldn't just switch you to the GF with your pin if there was availability.

Keep calling back! There is bound to be something, or you never know. They might just get sick of hearing from you and bump you to an upgraded room. Wouldn't that be nice?

I think you misunderstood.. the G/S CM was to check to see if they could move to you the GF... under your existing promo.

I bet they can.

Keep your discounted rate at he Poly unless you are actually going to pay rack rate without a discount at the GF. I say keep calling every day, at some point there is a 45 day mark, and I bet rooms become free. And once they get FD dining announced the rooms available for each promotion might change. Stick with what you have for now, and keep on calling. Plus, if you are in any way flexible with your days play around with them too (not sure if you are flying in from some place, or driving.)
