I decided to add on an extra day to our vaca and hoped for the POP on Oct. 1st but it is FULL! :sad2: So I had to book ASMu. Anyone out there who can help me get excited for this resort? It is only 1 night, so if we HATE it we will only have to endure for 24 hours or so. Please tell me we won't hate it! The Calypso sections look closest to the front, but are they extra noisy. What section is best for a couple with no kids. We also have to lug our luggage over to SSR on Sunday so somewhere near a bus stop would be good. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help. :wave2:

I didn't find ASMu any noisier than any other WDW resorts. It entirely depends who your neighbors are. I really like ASMu. Calypso is closest to the main building, but you will have to pay a preferred rate if you want to be that close. Jazz is second closest, but there is no guarantee you will get that building. There is only one bus stop at ASMu. Disney will transfer your luggage for you. Just make arrangements will Bell Services. They transfered our luggage to OKW.

First I'm a little worried that POP was full. I will be checkming in on the 1st of Oct. I thought this was a "Low" season. Anyway to answer your question. We have stayed at ASSp. We walked around all the AS one day and I have to say the ASM seemed to be the most quite really. It seems more couples w/ out kids stay here. I think you will be fine.

You can book Pop for Sept 30- Oct 1 online right now. I would just book that and see if they can connect your reservations once you are at Pop so you don't even have to switch rooms. :flower:

POP is still unavailable online and when I call CRO. Only ASMu and ASSp are available. I just called CRO and the lady I spoke with said, "Oh, you're just booking one night?", so that must be why it won't allow me to stay there? Do you think that they save POP for people who are booking their whole vacation for POP? That doesn't seem fair! I did book a King room for ASMu so that is considered "preferred" isn't it? If it is preferred, we can then stay in Calypso right (if it is available of course)? Transferring our bags ourselves is what the CM told me when I made reservations when I asked her. She said that since we are moving from a Value to a Home Away from Home resort we will have to transfer our own bags. She did say that if it was the other way around (HAFH to Value) they would transfer our bags for us. EpcotFan, did you have to pay extra (besides a tip :) ) to have your bags transferred? Thank you for all of your help! :wave2:

I would say just keep trying back every so often, something very well may open up. Sometimes they put rooms aside for special packages etc., but then may be released later. Plus I am sure there will be some cancellations too. So I would say if you want POP for that night don't give up hope yet :)

Hi. We moved from ASMo to OKW this June. Took our luggage to Bell Services and they moved it for us no problem. Hope it goes well for you.

When you call back, tell them you want to modify the existing reservation. But I did this for the WL when it was booked in high season and 3 calls later, it worked

A king room is not a preferred room. The only preferred rooms are in the Calypso buildings ($10/night more than a standard). BTW, a king room is just a request, not a guarantee.

We've stayed at the ASMusic twice and it's our very favorite  !!! Calypso is the "preferred" building and I would pay the $$ to get it. It's so nice to not have a long haul back at night, but for you, as it's only one night it might not be worth it. I don't believe there is any charge for transferring your luggage either. Say "HI" to the Calypso for me!

I've been calling lots (okay don't remember every day- but often! LOL) to try to get POP for our trip Sept 28-Oct 2nd and so far it's booked and can't get in. That's where we really wanted to stay... we opted for ASSP as our 2nd choice and that's what we have so far...

So I don't think it's just because you're only wanting one night. Unless maybe it's just rooms available Sept 30-Oct 1st but they are saving them for the dining plan (which requires min 3 night stay I though though...)? Because I can't get it even when trying to get more than one night. :(

Wishing you luck... and me too! LOL

I like ASMu.. I will always go there when I'm going on solo trips. :)

I just checked the online reservations at www.disneyworld.com, and Pop is available for Octover 1-2 and for October 1-8. I don't know why it keeps coming up unavailable for you. :confused3

I would keep calling for POP.

If you think you'll be unhappy, since you're moving anyway, why not splurge for one night at a deluxe?? It's a really nice way to end a vacation.

When I look just at Oct. 1st, Pop is all booked online, but if you put in a full week before then it shows availability. I would try the dates for your whole trip and see if that works and then just cancel the other phone ressie.

Also, if you really want it... Expedia has availability at Pop too.

We never had to pay anything extra for baggage transfers. However that was in 1999 when we transfered our bags from ASMu to Old Key West. Maybe they've changed the rules for Home Away from Home resorts? We never saw the people that transferred our bags so I can't recall giving a tip.
