Just tried to book a studio anytime during December, for three nights at BWV or BCV. The availability thread gave me hope something was open. Nothing except one weekend.....except at SSR. Our anniversary is in December and got my hopes up after reading the thread. Thought it might be a little romantic to make a last minute trip....no kids....Christmas decorations. I even checked into January and nothing. Just a little bummed. :sad1: Trying to decide if it's practical to waitlist. Airfare gets really high at the last minute. Anyhow, thanks for letting me whine.....

Moral of this story.....plan in advance....especially during adventure or choice season.

update: Just got off the phone with MS. Dates opened up. I'm going to Disneyworld!!  I even got BWV....exactly what I wanted. Calling back definitely paid off. Thanks for the pixie dust...it worked!

I think the availability board is way too new to give any accurate representation of availability. It started less than 2 weeks ago and I don't think alot of people even know it's there (has there even been an announcement?). December is always booked up far in advance.

Rule one of late booking... Be willing to stay at SSR and/or OKW.

I am a pro at late booking. I practially never get BW or BC. I can often get OKW or SSR even using the waitlist!

I've been off the boards for a while. I didn't know how new the thread was. I never thought I might get a ressie this late but, had hope when I read the thread. I'm going to regroup and see what I can work out. I hate taking the buses so I like staying at BWV or BCV. I know I'm a snob. I think getting to spend a few days before Christmas at WDW will be worth any concession. This has been the first opportunity we have had in the last 10 years to sneak away by ourselves. I'm not going to give up yet.

According to the reports on the December waitlist thread December waitlists, there are waitlists at all resorts. That being said, we have seen the most movement at OKW and SSR and the least movement at BWV.

Would you be flying or driving to WDW? If you would be driving and you like SSR or OKW, I would at least waitlist at them.

Whatever resort has the weekend availability, I would take and waitlist for the additional days. It is worth the "trouble" to get in around Christmas! If you can get what you want at SSR, then I would take that for sure, and waitlist for what you really want. In view of the fact that you want to go, take what's available and here's some pixie dust!pixiedust:

Actually, the CM told me it may have been the way he entered the dates. He found two different blocks of availability immediately. He pulled up the entire month and checked that way. Maybe, this will help someone else. :goodvibes

That's awesome! Congrats!

We are planning to enter the waitlist for April but I'm already resigned to the fact that it ain't gonna happen. Never hurts to try though right?

Man, that's so true. I want DVC for that last weekend in Sept, only could get BCV for my last two nights. I don't hold out much hope for the first two nights, but what can you expect when you make last minute plans!!!

Those aren't last minute plans.... when I show up to spend the weekend with you two, THAT will be last minute! and I have actually had pretty much 100% success with last minute plans ie even day of arrival, by calling MS as soon as they open or even walking into a DVC resort with no reservation and managing to stay on points.

:rotfl2: I haven't been on the boards in a while. Your posts are always great!

PS I'm like you but, I'm locking my door!
