So DLR finally posted the hours for Oct. (but not the entertainment schedule  ) & I am not happy to see how much is going to be closed for rehab during our visit. Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Aladdin, Sun Wheel, Small World, Fantasmic & Sailing Ship Columbia. Not really bothered about Columbia & already knew that Small World was going to be down but I think that's an awful lot of other stuff to have closed at one time. I've been planning this trip for 2 years and really wanted the people coming with me who've never been to get to do Pirates to see how it's different (and better IMHO) than at WDW. And Aladdin has been closed both times I've been to DLR. Is it just me or does anyone else think this is an awful lot to have closed at the same time. The last time I was there, Autopia, the Matterhorn, & the monorail were closed as well as Aladdin. Not really too bad but this time I think it's major stuff that's all down at once.

when are you going is there any way to go begging of oct? I barely am missing the closer dates i fill bad for those who have to miss them i think if pireats had been down id be asking my self if i should cancle lol

Tink,

I'm sorry your going to miss out on so much, it does stink! Unfortunately September & October are usually the months when quite a bit of rehab goes on at the resort!

Just don't let it ruin your trip! You will still be in Disneyland, which is better than being anywhere else!!!

We have gone a few times in october and I just wont do it anymore. The shorter hours, the closed attractions, the lack of fireworks, it just disapoints me everytime. Now i just brave the crowds, go during high season and hope to be dreamed (hee hee!) with Dream Fast passes....

I am sad, although I knew there would be alot. We went last Ocotber as well, although I do not remember what was down. I am upset about POTC, IASW, F!, and Aladdin. I knew IASW was going to be down, so I guess that is ok, I I dont think I was planning on catching F! this time around. But I am really really bummed :headache: about POTC and Aladdin. I am just hoping that POTC is down for the month of October only, as we will also be there on Nov. 1 and 2. So I still have my fingers crossed for that!!

I don't blame you, I'd be totally bummed if all that was closed at once when we went. Especially POTC, a trip to DL just isn't complete without pirates!

Have to agree with the PP who said they won't do October again. Loved all the cool Halloween stuff, but the crowds, short hours, and things closed just didn't make it my favorite time to go.

Which days are you going?
Seems like the beginning of oct weekend DL opens until midnight.
Which surprises me actually.

I share your misery Tinkerbell 7!:sad1:
We know it is the off-season and this is always when we go but we have never had so many things on the refurb. list on a trip either!
I do feel very bad for you that Pirates is not going to be up because it is a very special ride!
My friend and I are going for our first "adult only" trip in September for my birthday and the thing I wanted to do most was the dessert box premier seating for Fantasmic!
Of course, I then find out Fantasmic is not running!
Why, why, why does this have to happen on my birthday???:sad1: :sad1:
I am trying not to feel too sorry for myself and to remember that I am fortunate enough to have been to Disneyland and experienced everything whereas it may be someone's one and only trip!
I will still continue to go in off-season because I cannot stand the heat (summer) and the crowds!
One last whine! Whaaaa!:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Feeling the same way. :sad1: Not sure how I am going to break the news about POTC to DS yet. I know that he will be crushed. I am really dissapointed about Fantasmic as well. When we were there last May it was down for the POTC3 premier & I was sooo looking forward to seeing it this trip. Heck, all of it is getting me down. I expected some stuff to be down but not that much. But like tlovesdis was saying.....I WILL still be in DL so it'll be alright. lol

In Oct. we are going the week everything seems to be closed.

I am always ready for Fantasmic to be down at this time, it usually is when we go for our fall trips.

I was not prepared for Jungle Boat and Pirates to be down though. Man, that 1/2 the park is going to be interesting with both these rides down. Plus, it is Halloween time, I guess I just kind of think of the Pirates ride along with HM as being "Halloweenie" if that makes sense.

So, we go in 2 weeks to get our Pirates Fix and we will go back in November and hope more things are open as well. October is our "long" trip this year though, so it does kind of stink.

Those things better not all be closed when we get there in Nov. I already knew about IASW. I'm still having difficulty accepting Pirates being down. The Jungle Cruise would be the ultimate disappointment though. Too many at one time, I agree.

Does anyone know how long it is expected to be down for (I tried searching but could not find an answer).

Thanks in advance!:goodvibes

I am assuming you are asking about the Pirates of the Carribean and according to disneyland.com, it will be down for refurb from Monday, October 13th to Friday, November 14th.

I had no idea that much was going to be closed, We are planning a trip in Oct as well:sad2:

not quite so bummed anymore. POTC is off the rehab schedule on the DL website. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will actually be open during our trip. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes
