i have read a few things about bumbags being essential when in the parks; to keep your drink in and your mobile, tickets from getting wet etc,but i hate the thought of one:sick: and when i told the twins:cheer2: :cheer2: they said unless its a prada one they ain't wearing one:rolleyes1 .they seem like a good idea just to keep your stuff dry i imagine your clothes get soaked at times.do you wear one if not how do you keep your stuff dry.

The best thing we did was to buy dh a back pack from walmart and now he carries everything that we need for the parks in that!! :rotfl:

Definitely don't attempt to go without one - you'll be well out of place. In fact, I heard they weren't letting people into the parks without one. Prada is a bit too upmarket, though. Please tell your girls to get fake Burberry or Louis Vuitton ones from eBay. :rotfl:

Just remember to call them fanny packs while you are over there - Americans think bumbags is a rude word!:rotfl:

Or you could call them "bumbags" and offend all the Americans, and then say "no, I meant Fanny packs" and offend all the British in ear shot... :rotfl:

I am sure that they are practical, but I can't help think that they are a fashion faux pas against society... (bit like "**** tubes", "socks and sandals" and men wearing swimming thongs... ).

BUT life is about personal choice and if we were all the same the world would be too boring ;)

(ooohhh, how *n*l is that, they censor b-o-o-b... )

:teeth: "socks and sandals" and men wearing swimming thongs... ).

oh well i might as well get the full set of naff wear, white socks with the sandals of course and a nice pair of those black ears:cool1:

My DH gets the job of that too! And as there are 5 of us we tell him it keeps him company on the rides that only seat two!! :lmao:

My little backpack (just big enough for a few essential bits and pieces) is pink and grey.... my husband refuses to carry it... :confused3

May have to get a "more manly" coloured one for our next trip... :lmao:

I had to put in my two cents on this topic. I am a single Mum of 2 and am the official pack mule, when it comes to Disney. I have to carry everything. Now I know the bumbags, fannypacks, etc are not the most flattering, there is another option, that even your teens can't resist. In most of the gift shops at the Disney hotels, they sell a little backpack, that is more like a bag, with ropes for shoulder straps. It costs 15 US dollars and it has (I think) Mickey and the year on it. The bag is big enough for an extra pair of flip flops, keys, bottle of water, etc. I never go to the park without mine. It's been a lifesaver!! Elisa (Florida US)

We share a small strap padded ruck sac and one of us usually has a fanny pack/bum bag. Usually I give it to DH as it's a stretch to go round me ha ha ha ha. I agree with UKDEB - it is like spotting hidden mickeys that is those without one on! :lmao:
Ebay is definately a good place to pick up a fake one.

I can't imagine going round the parks without my bum bag. I carry everything that can possibly fit in it. DH carries a small rucksack thing for the essentials too !!

Don't actually think I have ever seen anyone without one, when I think about it.

I find shorts with lots of pockets help a lot, and would never consider a bum bag. Proper shorts like, not some duff sports types, but the smarter ones with pockets on the sides.

Bumbag? no way - prefer to keep my valuables in a leather messenger type bag myself.
You will be asking us to wear sandals next :)

I use my "Wear the Magic Lives" Disney one which has a separate pocket at the front for my phone and another pocket for my tickets / fastpasses. Bum bags are great as they mean you can go hands free and not worry about putting it down on a ride or at lunch and forgetting it. Having said that I only use mine in Florida and wouldn't be seen dead wearing one up the local High Street :)

I find that in the heat and humidity of summer a back pack makes you get too hot.

with small backpacks can you get on the rides ok or not:confused3 ,not sure if they let you on,bumbags i pressume are ok.if backpacks are allowed my daughters :cool1: cool and dignity will be intact if not and the bumbag has to raise its ugly head they will be gutted.they wait with baited breath on your answer:yay: :yay:

You can get on nearly all the rides with your bag yes - though for some you may be better using any nearby locker facility, for the coaster type rides anyway...otherwise your bag may fly off somewhere!

small backpacks are fine on just about all rides, the rides that are quite bumpy will have stowaway departments. There isn't a ride I haven't been able to take my 'telephone directory' sized bag on.
