I watched a very strange TV programme last night called "Bulging Brides. Where they took a very pretty and not at all over weight bride to be and tried to get her to slim into a wedding dress that was too small.

The only problem that the bride had was that the dress was the wrong size.

It was horrendous - she did not need to lose weight but was bullied into doing so.

Did anyone else see it?

I didn't see that particular episode Libby but I have seen a couple of them over the last few weeks. Can't say I understand it either :confused3

I've seen it a couple of times and thought the same thing, the brides are already really slim and don't need to lose any weight :confused3

...Ive only seen it once, but is'nt it the bride that picks a dress one size smaller and then asks them to make her fit into it, or am I not understanding it correctly??

I think so it is actually on in a minute on Living the girls are already beautiful and the women that always helps them in to their dress' are very picky about every detail of the dress making any bride more anxious the way she looks in her dress

I've not seen Bulging Brides but have seen an advert for it.....:scared1:

Yes, could be another contender for Sunday morning watching in a couple of weeks though mate - we're running out of crap reality TV programmes now :rotfl:

Have you watched Dating in the Dark.....it's good trashy sunday morning hangover tv. :rotfl2:

I saw an episode of it a couple of nights ago. I'm all for people getting healthier eating and exercise habits but the show was really odd, I agree. The episode I saw the lady was attractive and pretty slim (I'd say a uk 12) she lost a few inches here and there and quite a few pounds, but to do it over a period of six weeks just seemed to make her miserable along the way. TBH I couldn't see much difference between her and the female presenter, I thought the "bulging bride" looked better, actually. Strange.

Ooh no, we have pretty much exhausted them all - Hitched or Ditched is our current favourite, closely followed by Four Weddings and Bank of Mum and Dad :rotfl2:

I've seen bits of this programme and agree!

I mean, it's your wedding day, it's meant to be the happiest day of your life! Who cares if the dress is a bit bigger than you would of liked- you are marrying the person you love and who loves them the way they are!

That plus Four Weddings (which I am addicted to all the same) makes me wonder why some people get married....

I've spent the last week watching this and other rubbish due to a bad bout of vomiting bug. Although the concept is allegedly fat girl needs to be thin for her wedding it isn't at all is it?

It's more like beautiful twenty something size 10-12 buys size 6-8 wedding dress, diets to within an inch of her life, loses no weight but stacks of inches and looks like something out of a horror film as she tries to pretend she has any fat left on her honeymoon.

Only good thing is that my 8 year old was watching the other day and said 'I will never ever diet - that lady looks like she is going to die now and isn't pretty anymore'.

It's one of those programmes where you know the premise is horrible but you can't help watching anyway! The Living channel is my not so guilty pleasure ;)

After reading the 1st post the other day, i had to look for it.
I saw a few seconds and thought oh my.... some people are just weird. The makers of the programme should be ashamed.

I haven't seen this one yet, from the ad it did look a bit pointless. I would like to see one of the US 4 Weddings as I can imagine there are no holds barred when they rate each others wedding day
I saw Hotter than my Daughter on BBC3 the other day, all I can say is that's 30 mins of my life I will never get back :rotfl: It was pretty dire and I don't like seeing my TV licence money being spent on that drivel.
Also there is a 10 Years Younger Challenge at 5pm on 4 - IMHO those women look normal, ok they look a bit better after the surgery or treatment but they should work on being happy first rather than looking better to please others.
